Most entertaining: Al Bundy. The one I would choose to raise my son if I weren’t around: Andy Taylor.

Red Foreman is the GOAT.
Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights
Jim Brockmire was actually a pretty great dad until his daughter went off to college.
Hal from “Malcom in the Middle” was pretty great considering his mega b of a wife and his crazy arse kids.

Ward Cleaver
The episode where the sons worked their asses off selling door to door products so that they could win a movie projector...
When the projector arrives, Ward opens it and realizes that it was a cheap toy and the prize was a scam. Instead of doing what every other dad would do (use the opportunity to teach a lesson on not being a sucker), Ward goes out and buys a real projector so that the boys will never know that they busted their asses for nothing. Wally eventually realizes what happened, but tells Beaver that they should just appreciate dad instead of ruining his moment.

James Evan Sr. was an awesome dad. Poor black family living in the projects. He was a real man. Worked his arse off to provide for his family. Loved his wife but knew who the "real boss was". His kids respected him and didn't dare cross him. Hell, I even remember him spanking one of his kids friends for getting out of line and then telling him he's welcomed in his house if he behaves...
Good times went down when they killed his character off.
Play by John Amos...

Andy Taylor, Eric Taylor, and Tim Taylor.

First two scenes that come to mind are Uncle Phil with Will when his dad runs out on him and Red Foreman when he curses the world when he was strapped for cash but takes Hyde home.
