Hands down The Hunt for Red October. Best story and best cast. Everytime it's on TV I cant quit watching it.

HFRO barely edges out Patriot Games for me due to the story.
I was extremely disappointed in the casting and handling of Clark in CaPD, and SoAF was just weak.
ETA: Someone please make Without Remorse already!

I like both of those, but it’s clear and present danger for me.

HFRO was closest to the source material.
Patriot Games was changed up too much. Clear and Present Danger was worse.
Sum of All Fears shite the bed trying to avoid pissing off Muslims.

I always get shocked to realize that Harrison ford only had two Clancy movies.
Growing up I always had the impression of more.

Patriot Games will always be my favorite. It seemed like every time I was home from school sick I’d pop that vhs in and eat soup with some warm bread. It has a comforting effect on me.

Only if Michael Mann will direct it.

What do y'all think of the new generation with the two ghost writers?
I tried so hard to stay with it but fell out a few years ago. I was a fervent fan of the series for twenty years...

I don't read any of that stuff not written by Clancy himself.

I know I will be disappointed, but I'm looking forward to the Jack Ryan series coming out next month with John Krasinski.

Same
I have no expectation it'll be good because it's Jack Ryan. I just welcome any non-network series in the genre

Speaking of low expectations.
How has Hollywood not picked up and fricked up a Rainbow Six story yet?

I avoid it like the Bourne stuff after Ludlum died.
It's just fan fiction money grabs.
ETA
I'm still pissed at Brian Herbert letting Kevin J Anderson do the Dune prequels. The ones with Leto as a ruler coming into his own were tolerable but way too star warsy.
Then the fricking machine war stuff with Omnius which completely ignored the information we had directly from the God Emperor's memories.
Then the goddamned nerve to completely change Daniel and Marty from super prototype face dancers using face dancers and machines to build their empire into fricking Omnius and Erasmus.

Or Disney turning Star Wars into a depressing SJW soap opera .

Yup.
Best one was Red Storm Rising.
Best Ryanverse was Patriot Games.

It would be awesome if they made a Red Storm rising movie considering the state of Russia and NATO right now.
RSR has always been my favorite Clancy book!

yep, same. judging by the first trailer it looks too "action movie-ish." I like action, but when it's used to punctuate a more cerebral plot. however, i'm willing to keep an open mind, and it's not a goddamn comic book series, so it has that going for it.

Same. He at least looks more like an analyst.
