Early Mad TV is pretty hard to beat.

Then again so is SNL all the way up to 1994-95.

Yeah, Whose Line and Robot Chicken are not sketch comedy shows. Sketch Comedy involves improvisation, but not absolute improv. They actually practice the scenes beforehand.

Mr. Show and the Dana Carvey show, both are vastly underappreciated.

In Living Color and Dana Carvey Show.

Those were my absolute favorites. SNL, too up and down. Never saw Mr. Show.

Dana Carvey's show, as said before, never was given a chance. The weekly sponsors kept pulling out like a catholic and they put it on horrible days and time slots.

In Living Color was succesful enough to put a dent in the Super Bowl halftime show.

This show was pretty funny...not too many people ever saw it though. Created by Judd Apatow and had Ben Stiller, Jeanine Garafalo(sp?). Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show), and Andy Dick.

I certainly won't argue this one is the best (perhaps Flying Circus is?) but I think a lot of my generation missed the Chris Rock Show, and if you like Chappelle's Show, you could get into it.
