I’ve had his Civil War one downloaded forever and have yet to start. It’s just so daunting

out of all the Burns documentaries, I think his brother Ric's New York is right there with Civil War

Loved that Burns brought him back for the Baseball series, just so he could tell his one story about meeting Babe Ruth.

Have not seen this one but now I might just for that reason.

The timing of Episode 7 (post-WWII thru 2000) was unfortunate given that it was released right after 9/11. Episode 8 on the WTC is haunting, and a time capsule of its own since it was produced in 2003.

he's a good documentarian, but some of his biases are overbearing. parts of the country music documentary are exceptional. I especially liked his treatment of the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers. Conversely he seemed to unfairly slag Chet Atkins, Music Row and Nashville too much imo.

and I am sure I am in the minority, but to continually represent baseball players (people who choose to PLAY a sporting game as a job) as an exploited group, I don't think I will ever be convinced of that.

PBS app has them all, but you may have to donate to your local PBS affil to unlock them.

On another note, He is wrapping up his American Revolution doc soon and it will debut in 2025

He kind of lost credibility with me after his documentary on how Americans basically did the holocaust because we didn't do enough during WW2. I'm sure my grandfather and all of his friends would have loved to hear that. Thanks, Ken.

And of course, his J6 propaganda film. There's no one more establishment-approved than ole Ken.

He totally changed when after years later he got criticism in the media and academia for his treatment and presented viewpoint in The Civil War.

There's nowhere online saying that buying the LPB Passport will give you access to the documentaries. It looks like you have to purchase the series individually or get the $4.99 a month PBS Documentaries Channel on Amazon Prime.

If y'all have a library card, Kanopy/Hoopla tend to have all of his documentaries.

Looks like a lot are on there. No Baseball. We're going to try to watch Vietnam and see how far we can get before we run out of "tickets" for the month.

There are so many good ones, but I liked Jazz the most. Lots of info about New Orleans in this one.
