Ok, so the longer the show went, the more I lost interest. Just finished. What was the purpose and reasoning for Maggie??? She was a ghost, look alike from the Ring that had something to do with the ice berg/squid and possession. Did I miss something or was this never explained????

I think (but I’m not confident in this answer) she was human and she and her family traded human meat to the squid and the squid have them fish.
She visited the boy because she was wanted to get him to move to the mostly deserted island with her and get married.

That’s valid esp with the need for reproduction. This was never really explained tho. How did Maggie end up being the leader of the squid corral, where did she come from, and what happened to her?
It was like there was more to just a squid in the form of mental manipulation then that whole story line just died.

I’ve mighta made 5 posts on this board in my life. I came here just because of this show. Holy shite balls what a disaster. Even M Knight Shalamamalama thinks this is some nonsensical nonsense. It’s like they took Jaws+The Ring+ Contagion and made a miniseries. Got motherfrickers getting eaten by squids while others propose. Got dudes chillin on buoys with 1/2 a torso and then their sister getting mad at them cause he ain’t going to the town fair. I feel like there was 27 story lines going on at once. So many Jaws references too. fricking calling Mayday and dude destroys the radio? Or how bout Hartnett running around yelling “Get out of the water!!!” I mean, cmon Lol
