For the 300th post of the Hallmark Christmas Thread...

Lacey Chabert being playfully gift wrapped by the Christmas tree.

The cross country one that premiered tonight didn’t hold my attention

I thought Cross Country Christmas was okay, but it definitely could have been much better. It's a fun premise you can do a ton of stuff with.

They made Rachel Leigh Cook's character's personality way too quirky, almost bordering on annoying. She's insanely hot, but she came off as awkward and weird.

I did like that they didn't do the the same old "girl/guy realizes they never should have left home and decide to stay" trope, and instead made it about two New Yorkers who love their respective lives in the city and are simply going home for Christmas.

Christmas at the Palace is a strong entry. On now with the lovely Merritt Patterson in the lead role.

Well the 24/7 Christmas blitz may have ended but we can still cherry pick a few winter/new year themed movies with a few Christmas subplots over the next few days

The Color of Rain on now, starring Lacey Chabert

quote:

When Matt Kell, husband and father to two young boys, succumbs to terminal cancer on Christmas day 2005, his widow, Gina (Lacey Chabert) is left to cope with the pain of his loss. Wanting to be close to her kids, Gina starts to volunteer at their elementary school and meets the Spehn children, Jack, Danny and Charlotte. In a tragic coincidence, just weeks after Matt’s death, the Spehns' mom, Cathy, was also suddenly taken by cancer, leaving her distraught husband, Michael (Warren Christie), to care for their three kids on his own. Sensing the hopelessness in Michael that she so recently saw in herself, Gina reaches out to him and his kids and the two families begin to forge an unlikely friendship.

During the year that follows, the lives of the two families become intertwined as they learn to lean on each other, beginning to heal with laughter, compassion and faith.

Winter Castle

quote:

When Jenny attends a wedding at a magical ice hotel, she is surprised when she connects with the best man, Craig, and his daughter. Will the romance of the hotel bring them together?

Winter Love Story

quote:

When author Cassie's first novel isn't selling, she is paired on a book tour with author Elliot to boost Cassie's sales - but along the way a romance starts to blossom. Stars Jen Lilley, Kevin McGarry, and Mary-Margaret Humes.

It started Oct 22. So far the shows have been pretty weak. Danica McKeller and Torrey Devito's movies underpeformed, weak plot, weak hotness.

Ok, I can watch these since Halloween is over. Watch Starbuck last night with some goober on a boat; not great. Then Christmas Waltz was terrible, not the best start to the season.

Haha my wife asked what was wrong with that woman's nostrils. She said it looked like the deep dark pit of hell.
