Battleship thoughts

I went to see Battleship today and it was actually better than I thought it would be. It's not a best picture nominee, of course, but it is definitely an entertaining alien movie. A few thoughts.
1. Special effects are awesome. Top of the line.
2. There really aren't any slow parts in the movie because they do an effective job of changing scenes and keeping the action going.
3. They even managed to simulate the game ( Battleship ) in a scene without it being stupid.
4. The acting was average .
5. There was a couple hokie parts at the end, but it's an alien movie so that is expected.
Overall it wasn't great , but it was an entertaing movie with non stop action. Kind of i'n the mold of Independence day or Armaggedon .

I think the maneuver at the end was the same one they used in Master and Commander

One question - how much skin does Rhiana show? Cause she had way too much clothes in the HBO Making Of show.

I'm sure there will be people who feel this way. It definitely wasn't great as far as acting and dialogue go.
I didn't go i'n with big expectations, and I don't take movies too seriously. Especially not alien invasion movies. But it entertained me for 2 hours and I never got bored.

What logic dictates that "hokie parts" should be expected at the end of alien movies.

I don't know.
But most alien action movies since 1990 have hokie parts.
