Yeah his acting in that scene was on point. No dialougue needed.

The vast majority of battle scenes in movies and tv shows are stupid from a strategic or logistics standpoint. But that's not the point. Their point is to be entertaining and keep people on the edge of their seats and they did their job there pretty well.
There are plenty of other scenes/episodes in the last 2 seasons that you can go after that are actually bad all around both from a logistics/strategic perspective and a writing one. This isn't one of them

Actual strategy and tactics of the battle is ridiculous but the cinematography is excellent.

On the flip side I thought the battle of winterfell was fricking awesome and at no point did I think it was “to dark”. I know most fans think the opposite.
