Cavill is Clark Kent, with no glasses.
How can he hide his identity working for a newspaper/media company without his reading glasses that can conceal his whole identity. That wouldn't be very realistic.

Hopefully he wears them while filming.

He had the glasses at the end of MOS. It's just a publicity shot for a cause.

I thought it was the other way around?
Edit: Apparently, Gotham is in NJ and Metropolis is in DE.

In the end, it would've been nice to see Superman acknowledge or at lease attempt to mitigate the damage happening during his fight. But it didn't happen.
My only...and I mean ONLY criticism of the way Clark/Kal El handled himself in the final fight was him hopping carelessly over the tanker truck to have it explode behind him and take down ANOTHER building. The rest of the stuff...the hand to hand stuff that resulted in a ton of damage has been seen before by Superman. In fact, while I was watching the movie, my first thought was of these two scenes from Justice League Unlimited.

So the fact that he was in hand to hand combat, literally for the first time in his entire life, with a trained military officer who had spent his entire life training for combat and it was "messy" and a ton of stuff got broken (including a ton of people) made sense to me. But...when he jumped over the truck, that was a casual "frick it" type thing that felt wrong for me. He could have stopped it but jumped over it and gave a look like, "You missed me."

You obviously don't understand the deep connections between cryptonians you douche.
Also, Team Zod for life. I was hoping he killed all the humans and we could watch sequels of him and the badass cryptonians doing badass stuff.

He constantly vibrates his face giving it a different look and altering his features while slouching. He doesnt just "wear glasses".
Duh.

do the comics continue to use the lame clark kent/reporter stuff or have they largely ditched it?

My favorite family guy cut away is when he tells Louis he's really super man and he's like my only weakness is latex. And sheeps skin.

The connection between Superman and Zod goes beyond the capacity of human emotion.

You're in the wrong thread.

Back in the early 80s, the explanation was that Clark's glasses were made from the glass in the rocket that brought him to earth. And because of the yellow sun, the glass distorted Clark's appearance, making him look weak and sickly.

Its now Batman v Superman. Not vs.
Also, first BvS pic of Cavil as Superman
quote:
The director can’t say exactly how the relationship between the two superheroes evolves, “but suffice it to say there is a ‘v’ in between their names” in the movie title, Snyder says. He explains that having the “v” instead of “vs.” is a way “to keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.”
