Aside from his strength, I don't see how Croc is any shade of Batman. He's merely a mindless monster and is probably the dumbest of all Batman's villains.
His stupidity is essential to his character. I really like the croc in arkham verse. All these villains are great but in a batman movie you don't want it to be a routine caper.
It is clear that Nolan gets these characters. I can see knightfall, long halloween, dark victory, killing joke, year one and more story lines present in all of the films

That sounds like Zsasz's MO really, not Riddler's. I would have like to seen Zsasz more well done, but I don't think you can push the stakes down this far. They must be raised with bridges and stadiums blowing up with everyone in the city being possible collateral.
As for the Riddler, I agree that he would be just a Joker lite.
I think the Red Hood would make for a good villain in a Batman flick. The enemy who does Batman's job, but doesn't have his rules.

I think Penguin could've fit in Nolan's universe....but he had to have been nothing like Danny Devito. It had to have been some rival billionaire to Bruce that is making money off the Gotham depression. Basically he'd be the anti-Wayne.
Another thing that irks me is how different Gotham is in BB as compared to TDK. In the TDK, there's hardly any mention of the Narrows or the Train system. It's like two different cities.

Yeah, he'd be a great side villain, terrible main one. It would be good if that were one of his first major acts in either films or and two is to kick Zsasz's arse as he's about to go on a killing spree.

Pretty much the same role Falcone played in BB.

So many Batman characters overlap if you try to keep the universe as close to reality as possible.

Exactly...he needs a "bigger" story. But I do think Batman meets Seven would've been cool.
That's why I hope they do another animated series. Animation is so geared towards adults these days it would be great to see another BTAS

Pretty sure they say at the end of BB or at some point that the narrows were closed off, and considering TDK happens right after that is probably why

A legitimate complaint. I think they abandoned on trying to make Gotham part of the story. Burton's Gotham was great but I think by the time they did TDK they wanted a more real world approach. Wayne tower is completely different too. It's not just the train and the tower they just switched styles completely and why I think BB is the weakest of the two. Nolan tried but couldn't create a vibrant Gotham like burton. I'm glad he gave up before TDK because I love the real world setting.
But when the films are good, I don't get hung up on minor plot holes. It's when the holes are endless that it becomes bothersome coughgeorgelucascough

I have no idea what the premise of this thread is but I was just watching Batman Begins and had a holy shite moment when I saw Joffrey baratheon was Gordons son.

I was actually thinking about that as I typed it out.
As for Wayne Tower being different, considering it had a major explosion in its basement at the end of BB, they probably relocated Wayne Enterprises.

Except they're in the same board room at the end of the film. It's a plot hole that I'm sure they knew they were creating and chose to ignore.
I'm glad they did.

Good point. Wayne Tower went from being the center of Gotham to non-existent. I wonder why Nolan chose to do away with it?

I personally think they wanted a more real world approach/environment.
Nolan's Gotham in BB just doesn't look or feel right. Plus it seems since BB they have chosen more on location shots over sets and cgi enhanced cityscape

I liked BB better than TDK...darker and not so over the top.

Anyone doing the marathon thing and going to see BB and TDK before seeing TDKR? More than a few movie theaters have this as a promotion.
Yes. Pretty pumped about it. Taking off work Friday. Probably won't get home until 3:30 in the am
Costing me $25, but got a free popcorn out of the deal
