I mean the threads are to be expected so it doesn't bother me. It's the biggest movie event in a while; this is the movie board. Who cares if there are a couple threads a day on it. Just like super bowl threads on the msb. Or before the lsu/bama game on the rant. It's gonna happen.

I do have a problem with Batman Begins in the way it handles Alfred and that Harvey Dent should have been greatly involved. Then again The Dark Knight often off sets me by its pacing. They're honestly both about equal in my book and great films.

I've been hoping that at some point, Earle will return. You'd think he'd have it out for Wayne and Lucious.

Why is this? Ra's is Batman's second greatest foe and probably greatest threat. Ra's is anything but obscure, although I imagine most of America doesn't know who he is. Would you rather have a non-obscure villain like the Riddler who is of no real threat to Batman or Gotham over someone who very much is and actually has a point to his madness. All Riddler is is a paranoid skisophrenic (sp?) know wants to outsmart Batman, but miserably fails each time. Well known doesn't mean good.

While I agree with this, it reinforces my frustration with Nolan underusing Scarecrow. That was one creepy mother fricker that deserved more screen time, imo.

Still, Scarecrow is better used for themes than threats. He's a person with basically one plan and can be quickly overcome by Batman. Sure Scarecrow should beat and scare the everloving shite out of Batman at least once, but he should be overcome once Batman figures out his plan.

I don't think even most Batman fans would agree with that.

Absolutely.

You can make a paranoid schizophrenic dangerous in Nolan's Batman. I've never liked the mysticism aspect of Ra's al Ghul.

I've never heard this argument before. I'm fine with someone not liking an acting performance. But saying he was abysmal is ridiculous. The dude was not abysmal. So one scene with some comic relief takes away a possible claim for it to be a real ish superhero movie. Out of all the scenes that's the one you think takes away the real factor? He dresses as a nurse, shoots a couple of people, and is completely fine with blowing his brains out if it happens. The scene made you laugh but also showed what a psychopath he was. Far from cartoonish.

Disagreed in the fact that it's a little cartoonish with Joker there in the dress and wig (straight out of Looney Tunes), but the Joker is crazy and stands out enough that that type of humor works for him and makes him more appealing. Looney Tunes gags should work with Joker because he's too fricked I the head to separate those things from reality.

Best Scene in Batman Begins...

That's a really good one, although I think my favorite scene/fight scene is the begining of Batman Begins.
Batman wrecks 6 chinamen

The best fight scene in the entire franchise is at the very begining of the trilogy!

Please name one aside from the Joker. He's clearly his second greatest foe.

Then I don't know why you're interested in Nolan's franchise. Go watch the Schumacher films if you want that shite. This Batman is all about terror and crime, not wacky gags and stupid breadcrumb trails that merely annoy Batman and are not a real threat.

Does anyone else get sick of the self-proclaimed Batman film experts that pollute these threads. Give us all a break and watch something else. Jesus fricking Christ...

But why are we talking how they are in the comics? The debate that broke out is apparently between Nolan's two movies. As far as his movies go, joker/two face > ra's al guhl. That statement was made to say that because of that, TDK is better than BB. Who cares who's the bigger villain in the comics. That doesn't determine which movie is better.

As far as Batman's rogue's gallery and their "Q scores" go, I'd put Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Bane, and Scarecrow all above Ra's. Ra's might be his most "dangerous," but he's not all that well known outside of comic book fans.

This might be the first time I've been accused of not being a good/smart enough movie fan.

I would rather a villain like the Riddler in Nolan's universe because I think he fits better in the "real world" that Nolan uses. One of my favorite things about TDK was that as far as a movie goes...it was more along the lines of Heat than a superhero movie. I think you could easily do that with a character like the Riddler vs. Ra's. If they have something like the Lazarus Pit in TDKR, I wouldn't be a fan.

Let's say all things are equal...two incredible Batman movies, same director, same premise, same cast, etc. Would you rather see Batman square off against the Joker or Maxie Zeus?

Eta: for me personally, part of my enjoyment of the movie is I'd rather see Batman against villains that I know/like more.
