If you're a BoB fan, I recommend you check out Generation Kill on HBO. I think there are two episodes yet to air in the series, the newest one is episode five. It's the story of Force Recon marines during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It's much lighter than Band of Brothers for the most part, but it's still wicked awesome.

episode #6 is my fav with the medic from louisiana.
And I misspelled his name in my earlier post. I guess I just figured, South LA, Cajun, you know.

Watched the first one last night, and most of the second one (fell asleep).
It's pretty good so far. But some of you who said it starts off kinda slow were definitely right.
Was a little bit disappointed in the air-drop scene, as it looked awfully CGI'd. But that was still a cool scene though. Can't imagine what that was like in real life...

I'm worried we may have raised your expectations to impossible heights. Hope not.

I was thinking about that, but I'm not going into it assuming it's gonna be the best series ever. I am just glad to know that so many people think it is.
Either way, I have no doubts that I am gonna enjoy it.

keep in mind the series was set up to mimic their actual life experiences so the training introduces the characters but also shows the drudgery and monotony of Camp.
When the show gets cranked up it really gets cranked up, then it drops off, just like the roller coaster those men lived everyday

Make sure you are awake for the 2nd half of episode 2 (Day of Days). The assault on the gun placements is awesome...no CGI, just a bunch of whoopass.

I was thinking the same thing. That was the moment in the film that really hooked me. I watched the next three episodes back to back!

I can't believe you guys think that BOB starts off slow.
In my opinion Curahee and the landing (1st 2 episodes) are hands down the best ones.

Yeah, I agree. Curahee was definitely one of my favorite episodes. I was never bored or checking my watch at any time during the series.

Okay, so I'm through the first 4 episodes, and it's pretty good so far.
It's cool how well of a job they did (to this point) of showing how young kids going off to war are affected by seeing their friends die in front of their eyes.
Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the different characters though.
Also, Sobel just came back in the episode I watched last night, so that should be cool.

I like the guy that played football for UCLA in the Rose Bowl and then less than one year later, he was mired in that terrible shite overseas.

I agree, but it gets easier

Yeah, they went through a lot of trouble to try and develop each character as well as they could. This is done for a good reason.

Also wound up presiding over the trial of Sirhan Sirhan, I believe.

Yeah, he was the lead prosecutor. Buck Compton was his name.
