he's only made 1 truly bad movie before this (the happening, which was much, much worse than this movie)

the village was well done, just boring with a stupid ending

lady in the water was just stupid, but not bad

so to recap.

we have one horrible movie.
one bad one.
a well done boring bad ending one.
and a stupid but not bad one.

awesome.

Does anyone else think this movie reeks of having Mr. Plinkett (Star Wars review guy) absolutely destroy it? He seems to be a pretty big nerd (and a very, very funny one) to where it is likely he has watched the series. He can also dissect story structure better than just about any other reviewer out there and is especially good reviewing things in a pre-established universe.

First of all, if anyone went to see this movie, it was because they were interested in it, and admit they sat down and watched the Cartoon a bit too much.

Second of all, the movie did skip a lot of the stuff that the anime had in it, about how he mastered all Elements already, and how he could already control his super power state.By the time he actually started gaining control of it, he had aged more.

Third of all, Avatar the last airbender couldn't have been the same as the Tv Series, because of the fact the movie was only going to last for about 2 hours. So it had to sum up most of the cartoon series, give people an understanding of what the Avatar was, and somehow capture the entire story line of Avatar the last airbender.

Either way the movie was pretty bad. It could have been a bit better, but either way still shite.

Having seen the entire cartoon series (two young kids), the anime is so much better in every way - most importantly the story line.

It is worth watching even as an adult if you can get past the cartoon feel.

I went see it as a person who never saw the cartoon. So I guess that may be why I didn't think it was as terrible as some do.

I don't get you people, this movie sucked hardcore. I've watched both Max Payne and The Scorpion King in theaters and this tops both of them. If you haven't seen the movie, do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money.

I just need to know if it was worse than The Happening, which was next-level turrble.

If its not the worst directed movie, its damn close. I feel I could do better, and I know I would suck. Don't waste your money, like I did.

Just saw it online, and it is just awful. Horrible characters, horrible dialogue, not true to the show's themes, and a ridiculous amount of exposition. I don't remember a single line of dialogue from the series being in the film, and from a series that has great dialogue, this is obviously a stupid mistake. All Shyamalan had to do was copy and paste and he in the very least would have had a slightly bad film, not this atrocity.

The characters being so hollow is the thing that pissed me off the most. Take Sokka for example. If you had to use one word to summarize him from the animated series it would probably be "sarcastic". Honestly I don't think he was remotely sarcastic in the film and he is just an empty shell like everything else in this film.

Azula's cameo at the end is undoubtably the best moment in the film, not only because it was unexpected, but it also signaled that this POS was finally over.
