So we pretty much know that he will die in the Crisis crossover as part of the deal he made, right?

They need to get Slade Wilson into the final season.

Its probably time to put the series to bed.

Arrow had an amazing impact on superhero TV shows and the CW. It also had, if we will be honest, lost some pop off its fastball of late.

On one hand I could see them continuing as long as people were willing to give them money, the cast and crew evidently adore one another. On the other, 7 plus years is a long time to stick to a project in Hollywood.

Emily Bett Rickards, as an example, has only played Felicity Smoak for her entire career other then some minor side roles. She's probably ready to try the open waters.

It had a great run and you can't ask for much more then that when it comes to a TV show.

Probably time. Let's hope they wrap it up strong. Great show that did good things for superhero tv.

8 seasons is an eternity in Hollywood. Which makes Supernatural all the more incredible. It was starting its 8th season when Arrow premiered and still shows no signs of stopping.

I posted this article a few weeks ago. I expect a LoT announcement soon. I’m glad they are choosing to end it instead of carrying on without Oliver. Seasons 1, 2, and 5 were great television and a shortened season should help cut out some filler.

quote:

When The CW renewed all of its DC-based shows for another season last month, I wouldn’t doubt if many fans out there did a little happy dance. Granted, some have been performing better than others in the ratings department of late, but my gut says the network wants to keep them all alive long enough for the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover to be all that it can be.

Still, all good things must come to an end at some point. As it turns out, a source close to We Got This Covered is telling us that both Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow will be ending after the next season. If you’d like us to be more specific, we’re talking about the 2019-20 broadcast year.

Basically, this is because the Arrowverse landscape is said to be drastically different post-Crisis. To be honest, we don’t know if that means Greg Berlanti and company are paring it down to one cohesive universe so that Supergirl is more readily available for crossover action, but official announcements are expected to come down near the end of each respective season.

What’s also worth mentioning is that characters from cancelled shows may move over to other series. If this option is indeed explored, then maybe Heat Wave will come back home to The Flash, or someone else could drop by Batwoman for a visit.

They really ruined this show and wasted so much potential and many stories by forcing this toxic couple down our throats.

I hate felicity because she makes everything about her and thinks she runs the show and is obsessed with her relationship to Oliver. SHe's toxic and poisons everything.

Also, Hooking Oliver up with felicity cheapened a major big reason as to why and how Oliver survived five years on that island and in Russia and China. And that reason was Laurel Lance. Not just guilt over leaving Laurel and cheating on her but making it back to her to make things right with her was one of his few reasons that enabled him to survive those hellish five years and it would've been a poetic and just right ending for Oliver to be with her had the writers honored that logical conclusion and the character's source material.

Laurel Lance, The Black Canary, was the love of Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow's life (and she admitted that she felt the same about Oliver on her death bed), not the side character's who's supposed to be nothing more than tech support that also doubles as comic relief.

So they're leaving the Flash as the only good superhero show remaining on CW. I guess that frees up some time for me. I won't be watching Supergirl or Black Lightning.

Stopped watching the show when Felicity was not really killed. Is it worth catching up? Not sure if I want to dedicate that time or just pick up now and ride the final ride. With all of its flaws this was a good series. I hope they end this right. IMO killing him off is very cliche and unnecessary. They can end it in other ways without having to dig into the hero dies grab bag.

Seasons 3 and 4 were the only ones I really felt like dragged along. I've been entertained with the current season.

Agreed. I don't think they do this. There is a lot of future cameo potential with the character.

I stopped watching both Arrow and Flash this season. I kept falling asleep in the middle of episodes. I was holding out hope that it would get better and it never did.

There’s an episode of Legends of Tomorrow where the legends visit the distant future and come across a one-armed Oliver hunkered down. Noting that this series is canonical with The Dark Knight Returns. And I understand futuristic things that they see in the present don’t always line up, like when Flash went into the future and saw his depressed self after Iris was killed.

So I hope they don’t kill him, because I’d like to see more one-armed Oliver in future episodes of The Flash

That show got dumb after season 2.

It was fun to watch and laugh at how bad it was. Flash became the same type of show, let's see how dumb this episode will be.

Both had possibilities, both suffered from poor writing.

I was religious about watching this show for the first 3-4 seasons. Then I just lost interest

It was a combination of bad writing and the introduction of so many fantastical elements that killed it for me.

Arrow was much better when it was grounded in reality and not used as a launch pad for shows like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.

Agreed. The show got too ridiculous. That's what caused me to lose interest
