I think you meant

Anyone who calls someone an idiot based on something subjective is an idiot.

Objective - Observation of measurable facts
Subjective - Personal opinions, assumptions, interpretations and beliefs

Hence my reply to him, "You really covered your arse there." Could've also posted the "It's a trap" meme.

I like Frasier better, but I still don't understand how his character changed so much outside of Boston being a social experiment.

They had to address continuity issues when they created Frasier. He didn't have a brother and on Cheers, his father was a deceased psychiatrist.

Golden nugget - you are an Idiot.

I CAN'T BELEIVE YOU ALL HATE THAT CHARACTER SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That shows how shallow and superficial the viewers tastes are..
Whoever said that Diane was a perfect character?!!! When all the others are so flawed and yet try to project themselves as "cool", she admits when she makes mistakes, She cares for everyone, and yes she does have a superiority complex- who doesn't! When the Narcissistic Sam Malone can behave as if he is god's gift to women (sick) Diane surely is justified in doing so... She never claimed to be perfect. She merely wants share her refined taste hoping that the 'masses' would catch up.
Actually Frasier and Lilith are worse - one is conceited and yet a coward and the latter is arrogant and boring. I think the American Stereotype of intelligent classy women is downright pathetic.
I am not American (thank god) and I think the culture which is reflected in such shows , has ample evidence of mass mediocrity in the society, that has no respect for women who are vocal.
I think Diane's characterisation is very different from the usual females on TV shows but the way the writers/viewers have demeaned her character shows Inferiority complex and macho dominance.

And Frasier's Mother in cheers is an old controlling highbrow but in Frasier the flashback video shows her as a pretty, decent young female!

both shows are very good but its clearly 2 complete different shows with and without diane there.

i liked both but favor the early diane shows more but as i said, both shows are great and its stupid to try and say someone is stupid for liking one more then the other

ACE Midnight : I absolutely agree!!
Finally ! one viewer has some critical thinking in all the posts on Cheers I have seen across the board -So Far.
Her character is a complex one and I feel that the makers did not do justice by constantly putting her down

golden nugget ! that shows how much you can focus on a show.. calling others idiots. you are a distilled one.
Rebecca is shallow like Sam.
Diane has depth. she always admits her flaws and faults.. she is always there for others.

RHype! Yes.. Actually when I watched it first on reruns in bits and pieces- it was unpleasant and dark- the bantering, the shallowness that gets glorified and how Diane was constantly put down by so many esp the macho jerk SAM.
but just last week I watched it again.. on S3 now! and I was laughing more - because I was conscious of how mean it can get.. Most sitcoms are quite dark and people don't even realise it,,

Rebecca was as boring as watching paint dry.

Frazier saved Cheers.

preferred the show while Diane was a part of the cast, but I still enjoyed it afterwards.

Did you register today to bump a 1.5 year old thread on the movie TV board created by a troll who hasn’t posted on this site in over a year?

Rebecca Howe Cheers >>>>>> Diane Chambers Cheers
Good grief. Are you trying for idiotic statement of the century. Diane was a far better character, and Long was a far better actress. Rebecca was an incredibly whiny, groveling, gold-digger. Diane was sophisticated and witty. Saying Rebecca is better is like saying a hot dog is better than a ribeye steak.

Season 9 was pretty good, but season 5 was by far the best.
