I don't watch SNL because I have two little kids and on Saturday night, I just want to go to bed. I'm too lame for SNL. But I'll still watch a sketch that makes it to the internet. Usually, there's one good sketch a week which, to be honest, is the batting average of the older show, too (though I've always loved the late night dumping ground sketch for pure weirdness)
However, SNL can still make a great political sketch on occasion. That Tom Hanks sketch in which he plays the Trump supporter on Black Jeopardy is outstanding, mainly because it subverts expectations. "Doug" KILLS it, getting every answer right, making a pretty good point that Trump supporters and the black community have a lot more in common than they think. It's a well-crafted joke.
I tend to think most of their presidential jokes, no matter who is the president, are pretty lousy. The performer tends to get too attached to the president to do anything interesting, like Carvey did with Bush. It ends up being too affectionate, which is comedy death.

I don't think Norm ever got affectionate with Bill or Hillary: LINK

I meant the impressions, not the news desk. And Norm is a comedy god, who takes nothing seriously.

They have shitty talent. Anybody that is even slightly funny has their own show now. You'll never have as talented of a cast as the 90's had.

umm, 20 years ago like all of the other non-morons.

Pete Davidson is actually a good writer based on his stand up but those jokes would never fly on the show. His talents are wasted on SNL.

I stopped watching last year(I think) after the Amy Schumer episode. It leans so far to the left now its ridiculous. Plus I could watch an entire episode and not even chuckle so I said F it.

I havent watched it regularly since the late 80s. I did watch a few of the trump skits on the interwebz. They were funny at first, but have fizzled a bit.
the putin one on saturday night was pretty funny though but everything else I saw was crap.

I quit watching when they ceased being funny, so about 15 years now.

One or two if the ppl you naked are kinda funny sometimes but not one can stand on their own and carry a movie.
4 people on that list have already proven they can stand on their own and three of them carried movies by themselves
