The first run was decent to good. After it got rebooted it's had a few moments, but has been terrible for the most part.

9/10 references are extremely obvious in Family Guy. It's just every single side joke has absolutely nothing to do with what is going on in the scene, while in the precancellation episodes they at least had something to do with the plot. Like for instance Brian tells Peter that he should get a job, but Peter says he always blows it in the interview. Cut to Peter in an interview where he is struggling not to say "doing your wife". That is funny and has something to do with the plot. It's not like Archer or Arrested Development that have actual smart and subtle jokes that build up over the series that is difficult for people who jump into it to understand.

Family Guy is terrible. Every episode is some stupid flashback that has nothing to do with the episode.

I think Family Guy was waaaay funnier in the beginning. It's just ..meh now. Has some funny parts but it's lost it's original .. flair? And American Dad and the Cleveland Show.. 
I never did understand the mass appeal of South Park. It has its moments but they often just go way too far for my taste. To the point that it's so ridiculous that it's not even funny. I did really enjoy the episode with KFC being banned and medical pot being legal.. When Cartmen snorted chicken skin like coke.. I lost my shite

World domination Stewie was funny. Gay Stewie not so much.
I'm not a fan of Mcfarland's politics and the cheap shots he takes at conservatives so I stopped watching regularly a while ago.
