This is a vet for attention. If you don't like them then don't watch them. To start a thread over movies that have done well with the public with a story arc spanning ten years? Come on man, that's an accomplishment.

So there are 100 page threads for almost every superhero movie, but making one single thread that goes two pages about seeing if other people maybe feel the same way about them as I do is a grab for attention? Am I trolling this post? I've given legit reasons to why I stopped watching most of them. Apparently there are quite a few people that feel similar.

I think this is a lazy sentiment. You're basically saying I'm not going to give a movie the time of day, even if I know I might enjoy it, because I don't want good movies of THAT genre.

Maybe so.

I never said I havent watched any of them of late. I guess boycotting technically might be the wrong term. *edited to remove boycotting from the title since im not fully doing that*

I saw Wonderwoman and enjoyed it. I saw both Guardians, i liked the 1st and wasnt crazy about the 2nd, I doubt I would watch the 3rd.

That's where I disagree. I didnt view them as consistently great films. I didnt like Iron Man 3, the 1st avengers, or civil war. Why would I want to watch movies with more of the same characters that I didnt like?

I didnt like Batman vs Superman. I didnt go see Justice League because of that.

I LOVED Nolans batman films, the first two being two of my favorite movies of all time really. I would consider them great films. Batman and Batman returns I would consider great. Winter Soldier I would say was great. Im sure theres one or two im forgetting.

So I dont see them as consistently great as you do. I guess thats where the difference lies. Between the two of us at least.

Those threads are not 100 pages of people saying they love the movies. It is mostly discussion on plot lines.

That's my issue with the MCU as well. The hyperbole on this board is just insane to me. Movie expectations have seriously gone down hill if this is what we consider great films now.

After the Infinity War arc I’m gonna need a break. And I love the films.

I don't think anyone is calling them great films sans a couple of them. These films will never win the big awards anyways. They can't all be schindlers list. That being said, these movies have done what they were meant to do and some of them have been done really well.

I haven’t seen any of the marvel movies since Ironman 2 with the exception of Logan. I also enjoyed the Nolan Batman trilogy. Superman was always my favorite as a kid (reeves) but the new ones have been a massive letdown.

I’ll get into the marvel movies once my oldest boy is a little older but I’ve never really been a big marvel fan even as a kid.

ETA: I did LOVE the punisher on Netflix. Liked first season of JJ ok. Found daredevil kinda meh and quit watching. I’ve never been crazy about that character.

I enjoy them. Although there are only a couple each year I hit on opening week, Marvel has done a solid job on maintaining quality throughout their run. (Although this board gets a little carried away with their praises for the MCU it has been a fun ride from the start). RDJ as Iron Man has to go down as one of the greatest casting choices in Hollywood history.

I'm in the distinct minority, but I love the Snyderverse, too. The darker feel is a nice change from Marvel. And DC's casting of the Big 3 - Supes, Batman and WW - has been every bit as solid as Marvel's.

I'm not as amped as when this phenomenon began but they have all been solid entertainment that's been well worth the time and money.

They're extremely entertaining to me except for a few so I hope they keep making them. BTW people bash IM3 but IM2 was much worse IMO.

I wasn’t a superhero movie guy until I watched the marvel movies. They are well done and fun. I quite enjoyed the infinity movies. They were very intertwining and entertaining.

Personally, Winter Soldier and the latest Avengers are top tier

No problem with that at all. As stated by another poster, there are threads with 100s of pages dedicated for that discussion.

Antman / Wasp is bad. I mean they even got sloppy on CGI.

I’m a Marvel fan but how’d they allow it?!?!

It's insane how many there are one after the other. At the same time, they are making money, so they will keep making them.

Considering the first true comic book movie was made in 2000 "XMEN" I'm going to say you are a full of crap troll

Blade doesn't count and was made in 98 so even if you did count it you are still full of crap

And if you think 2000’s X-Men was the first true comic book movie then my guess is that you are either:

1. A teenager
2. An idiot
3. Both

They got old for me a while ago. The action scenes are so incredibly pointless. Occasionally I will rent one if it gets very strong reviews. At Christmas I did take the nephews and niece to see Thor - Ragnarok. And that was really fun. If they have good writing and humor then they can still be very good. But that is rare.

Well that's condescending and snobby as hell.

That's your opinion. It's also the opinion of millions of people that Infinity War, the Guardians movies, Thor Ragnarok, Winter Solider and several others are great films.

Who gets to decide whether or not a movie is great? There are movies that are lauded as the some of the greatest of all time that I don't particularly enjoy and wouldn't choose to sit down and watch, but does that make them not great films? No, it's just not my particular taste.

It would be one thing if Marvel was pumping out movies that the fans disliked (I.E. Star Wars TLJ), but they've made many many movies that the fans of all ages and groups have loved. That's not to say that every Marvel movie is great, but in the eyes of many people, many of them are. Who are you to tell people what they are and aren't allowed to think is a great movie?

This is the demographic that likes comic book movies.

It’s shameful they are allowed to be discussed here. We should be discussing peak kinography, not movies made for little kids
