The original is one of the greatest movies ever made.
You mean the black and white silent version? Because I prefer the one with Charlton Heston. One of the greatest movie remakes ever made.

I always forget that this exists. I meant the Charlton Heston version.

Quo Vadis (1951) is one of the really good older Roman period movies. It's one of the big productions with thousands of extras in some scenes. Has some nice battle scenes in a wooded area. It's about the rule of Nero.
Deborah Kerr
Peter Ustinov
Robert Taylor

The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964)is another huge production. It was a disappointment when it came out, but if you like movies from that period, it's great.
Sophia Loren
Alec Guinness
James Mason
Omar Sharif
Stephen Boyd
Christopher Plummer
John Ireland
Mel Ferrer

I can't remember which one I liked better and think I could have scenes confused. If I was you, I'd watch both.
