Just back from watching it. Very entertaining film. I didn't have high expectations for it similar to Guardians of the Galaxy. Didn't know much about Ant-Man before, but now a fan.
Overall I think I liked this better than Avengers 2. There was plenty of humor throughout the movie combined with the action was great.
Don't forget to stay till very end of credits. There are 2 scenes to see.

Not as funny as GotG, but very funny it's own (w)right.
Pena was a scene thief.
This movie was not nearly as heavily edited as AoU so I actually also liked this better than AoU

Lots of Ant Man threads up on this board.

Saw it today with the fam
Really liked it. Not my favorite Marvel film, but it did what it ws trying to do.
3D was pointless, except for the scene where they were flying through the server room. That scene alone was worth the 3D upcharge.
Pena was money.

Saw it in IMAX 3D Saturday and really enjoyed it. The 3D and IMAX didn't add much IMO. I really liked the family aspect to the movie. It excelled where AoU fell a little short, even though Ant-Man is a relatively unknown character to most. In that sense I think it was a great success.
My wife enjoys comic book movies, but doesn't know the characters outside the main 4 Avengers. She didn't like GotG because she felt no connection with the characters prior to the movie. She was hesitant to see this, but in the end really enjoyed it.

I don't understand this statement. Can she not watch a movie unless she has read the book first ?

Update for OP.
79% from critics and a 92% audience score.

Maybe that wasn't the best description of her character dislikes. Since she had never heard of them, it was difficult explaining how they connect with the MCU and how the outcome affects the future.

basically, the Avengers save the world/humans and Guardians save the galaxy.
I really liked Ant-Man. The main complaint I heard from the group I went with was the first part of the movie was pretty slow and there was very little tension or reason to care, but I think the last 30-40 minutes made the movie.
Pena's storytelling scenes were hilarious and that damn train had the whole theater rolling.
Probably a movie that is a better experience with a good crowd than watching at home for things like that.

I'm a bit late on this, but I just saw the movie over the weekend.
Overall I liked it. I'd probably put it in the top half of Marvel movies, but not in the top three or four.
It was light-hearted and fun. I liked that it felt pretty different from the other movies w/ more comedy and the whole heist angle. Paul Rudd was good and I thought the character designs were well done. Michael Pena was funny, but I didn't like that all of the sidekicks felt like such caricatures. At times there was a bit too much exposition and the parts that were supposed to be emotional didn't click very well.
