I think Reed was brought on board mainly due to his comedic chops. It's not a disaster like some are making it out to be; however, it's clear Marvel isn't interested in unique, personal vision. Reed is a hired gun by the studio, and that's probably OK as long as the script is solid.

Huh, a-hole? Really? You're being all doom and gloom, I'm just being a little more positive. You've already said this has is automatically a worse situation without any information whatsoever. I'm just saying, "look on the bright side," and "we don't really have enough information."
Ok, I apologize, but you said this:

And the pool of great directors from which they can pull from has been greatly diminished.
Because a studio had creative differences with one director and had time conflicts with another (McKay).
So what does this mean then?
They lost out on two directors for ONE movie. This is not a "greatly diminished" situation.

Yeah, it's clear to me that Marvel has a vision for how Ant Man will fit into the Marvel universe, and I don't think that McKay and Wright were compliant with that.

Not enough people were upset.
And Ant-Man can still be as good as TDKR...
It can, but yes I'm kidding.

It looks like Ant-Man's villian will be Darren Cross
quote:
In their report, the site mentions that the main villain of the film will be Darren Cross, a foe of Ant-Man Scott Lang in the source material and head of Cross Technological Enterprises. The site reports that instead of his Hulk-like stature in the comics, Cross will go toe-to-toe with Ant-Man in an outfit similar to the hero. Darren Cross also has a cousin, William Cross, who becomes the villain Crossfire in comics. A CIA trained agent with expert martial arts and weapons skills, in addition to a cybernetic eye.
