mean I know they make Troy wear the same shirt all the time so they can edit together many trips but Im fairly sure they are killing gators.

I'm almost embarassed that I know this, but I saw something on Troy about his "lucky shirt" or whatever he called it.

He's made a shite ton of money wearing it, I'd consider it lucky too.

They all wear the same clothes every episode so it can be pieced together over a few days of hunting. That's a common trick. My brother was on Master Chef and he had to wear the same thing for all three days of first-round cook offs so the show could use the clips in whatever order they wanted without glaring inconsistencies.

That was Popcorn. He was the only real moonshiner on the show. I believe that all his footage was from a documentary that Discovery did some time ago.

He got busted. He was looking at a minimum ten years in the federal penitentiary and decided to take a nap with the car running and the garage door down.

Your thinking of Popcorn Sutton. He killed himself via carbon monoxide poisoning in order to avoid going to jail. He really isn't the mail focus of the show though.

To the guy that said he went legit, Hank Williams Jr. is using his name to market a legal version of moonshine that allegedly uses Popcorn's recipe and still designs.

Well, for one it is an artisanal form of liquor. It does have its appeal, and of course, the outlaw aspect drives up the price.

It's a way to make money, and people want the product.

The reason it is legal to brew beer (except in Alabama) and not distill liquor is simple. Money. On a liter of liquor the government collects between 3-6 dollars. On a comparable amount of wine or beer, they get about a nickel.

Yes, they are killing gators but some of those people were not really gator hunters previously.

There's also the dangers involved with distilling that are not present with brewing. You really don't want to drink shine made by someone that doesn't know exactly what they are doing.

While there is the potential for danger, distilling is basic elementary level chemistry. Anyone with half a brain and and some copper tubing can distill liquor that is perfectly safe. Spirits have been made for millenia, and the process has not changed.

Just don't mix it with fricking bleach.

You're trying to tell me that a show where guys have to secretly buy bags of corn and pick them up off the side of the road, then fish tail it out of there goin 90 miles per hour down the road, and meeting random people in a parking lot to sell their alcohol like drug dealers, and charging $50-$100 per gallon of homemade alcohol in a plastic jug when really good quality alcohol can be bought for the same price or less is not real!??!

well I for one am shocked.
