EXCLUSIVE; 20th Century Studios has engaged 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg to direct the fifth installment in the Predator series. The script is being written by Patrick Aison, whose producer-writer credits include the series Kingdom, Jack Ryan and Treadstone.

They are keeping the plot line under wraps for the moment, but I’m told it won’t swing back to the developments in the most recent film. Fox made its last entry in the 2018 thriller The Predator. That film was directed by Shane Black, who was one of the original castmembers in the 1987 film that kicked off the series and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Black played one of the team of commandos who winds up being tracked and killed in gory fashion by the extraterrestrial hunter.

I liked the idea of the last one. They just made too many errors with the plot. The idea of a helpful predator was pretty cool. Then them gifting a Yajuta armor suit to the humans was neat. But I didn't like the kid or the giant predators.

All of this. I enjoyed it enough.

And I actually thought Predators, with Brody, was super solid. Underrated and a lot of fun with some great sequences.

Yeah, as a whole the Predator sequels - not including the AVPs - really haven't bad. I really enjoy Predator 2 and Predators is pretty solid.

I enjoyed The Predator well enough although there were certainly some issues. Getting to see one finally use its mandibles was great. That one scene where he tears into the scientists is fantastic.

I actually didn't care much for the suit at the end though. I was hoping they just go full on fan service if even if it didn't make sense and have it be like a Xenomorph egg (which I know... the one Predator was trying to save humanity it wouldn't have made sense) or to somehow have like a preserved Arnold in there.

I agree. Seeing Brody as some supposed badass action hero was a bit odd and his Batman voice that he tried to use was weird but it's a real solid movie.

Agreed. It was really solid all around. Brody is really hard to believe as a badass bit other than that it was my #2 in the series behind the OG

This last one just couldn’t survive Boyd Holbrook as a lead. I remember laughing so much when Sterling K Brown blew off his own head and being the only one in the theater that thought that was hilarious.

Predator 2 is a guilty pleasure and Predators was ok but I dont see how you guys enjoyed The Predator. Maybe I was expecting something really good b/c I like Shane Black's movies but I thought it was one of the worst major motion pictures I've ever seen.

I enjoyed The predator as well. I’ve pretty much liked all the predator movies and AVP(not AVP 2).

Can't be any worst than the last one that came out. Hopefully, they get this one right.

AVP is awesome. AVP:Requiem is terrible and the darkest movie I’ve ever tried to see.

Predators was solid but Brody as a marine badass was laughably bad. But it was a good movie.

I didn’t like this last one. The Predator or whatever. But like someone said, the premise was cool but the execution was terrible.

I’m down for more Predator movies though.

Will watch, even if it's terrible.

Yes Predators actually felt like a direct sequel to 1 and 2 even though they made a lot of mistakes

Get McTiernan back and bring back old man arnold for at least a cameo.

He could be the guy who tells the new crop of elite badasses what they're up against.

They're alway going yo be chasing the original though, which is on the Mt Rushmore of action films.

Give me Danny Glover, and I'm good. Throw in all the mercenaries from the first one, I'll watch it every Friday night for the next three years.
