Wait, in what world would the military just send in 5 chicks to explore a hostile environment with Predators?

And how is JJL still getting roles? Sort of weird that she keeps popping up. Where's Bridget Fonda?

I'm reading the book now. They aren't military; they're volunteers that all have a specific scientific background deemed necessary.

Don't think I'm getting to go tonight because my brother wants to finish the book before we go see it. But I'll be there this weekend. Those of you who go tonight, please post some spoiler-free thoughts.

Encouraging bit of info I found on Wikipedia:

quote:

Due to a poor test screening, David Ellison, a financier of Paramount, became concerned that the film was "too intellectual" and "too complicated" and demanded changes to make it appeal to a wider audience – including making Portman's character more sympathetic and changing the ending. Producer Scott Rudin sided with Garland in his desire to not alter the film, defending the film and refusing to take notes. Rudin had final cut.[2]

Thank you Scott Rudin

Yeah I don’t even care if I like it or not, props to him for telling them to shove it with their lowest common denominator bullshite.

Just got out. Go see this movie! It was bazaar, masterfully constructed, uncompromising, beautiful, and horrific. I would love to say more but I absolutely refuse to spoil one single detail. Just go see it so we can get a spoiler thread going!

Just got out. Weird and I didn’t find it that good.

People around me said we should all get our money back.
