Go to anime44 or animeseason. I cant stand watching dubbed anime. Voice actors in Japan are hired to fit a character exactly, not like here where they just put any voice to a character.

Only a few that are better in English. Cowboy Bebop is FAR, FAR superior in English. Faye's Japanese voice makes me want to kick puppies and drown kittens.

For those with xbox live, the Manga and Crackle apps have tons of free anime.

You haven't watched Eva yet? Rebuild of Eva is really good if you want a condensed version, but only the 1st 2 parts are out.

Are you talking about Evangelion?

I own the movie Evangelion 1.11 and I absolutely despise the main character, Shinji. I don't think I could take a full series of listening to that pussy whine about having to pilot a giant fricking robot.

Yeah, Shinji can be a little bitch, but the story goes a lot deeper than that. If you have 1.11 you might as well watch 2.22.

I'll probably end up watching it eventually. There are other shows that I've got ahead of it right now though.

This is an anime I will buy. I want them to keep making the movies, and to do that, they need to be profitable. That said, I will torrent it too...

I feel the same. ALready torrented the first one without subtitles. Word is it sucks, but I'm not sure if that's just a bunch of fig fanboys whose expectations are too high. Personally I enjoyed watching it except Zodd looks shitty. I really just want them to continue the story past the golden age, and that arc really can't be done justice in 3 1.5 hour movies.

Just finished Samurai 7 last night and have to say I enjoyed it a good bit. Pretty good take on the movie up to about halfway through and then it took it's own direction.

Just started rewatching Robotech on Hulu. I loved this show when I was about 4 or 5. My nanny never had to tell me when it was 1 o'clock. That was when Robotech came on, and I never missed it.

The show stands up surprisingly well. Love the fact that people die on the regular throughout the series. That shite wouldn't fly today.

Berserk - Golden Age Arc I is out on Bluray in the states. Not the best adaptation of the story, but Berserk is still incredible.

Bought 1.11 on bluray the other day. Will be buying 2.22 soon.

Same. Eyepatch Asuka teaser at the end sealed it.

Just the long wait for Gainax to release the BluRay. Should only be ~24 hours after that, fansubs are quick.

Hey guys. Never thought I'd find myself in this thread

I was cleaning out some boxes at work and found a VHS called Akira. Looked it up, watched some scenes on YouTube, and ended up watching a compilation video of badass anime scenes, one of which was a very disturbing scene from a series called Elfen Lied.

I looked it up, and it was pretty twisted. I ended up spoiling the entire story for myself. Turns out it is one of the most beautiful stories I've ever seen. It makes you feel all kinds of emotions. I will be buying the boxed set of Elfen Lied soon.

Had anyone else seen/heard of it?

I've seen some of it. You should watch Berserk. Doesn't get more dark, twisted, and sad than Berserk.

LINK

Give it a few episodes. Nothing ever goes as Guts plans or hopes.

Yeah, Elfen Lied is a pretty huge show. Very popular for it's shock and awe factor. I've only seen a few episodes, but I plan to watch it all soon.

Does anyone here actually keep up with new seasons and watch week to week?
