Inside Amy is plenty "offensive" if that's what you're looking for.
I'll admit the thing with the kid the other day was lame, but that's the exact type of thing that probably happened 5 years ago and no one cares because no one knew who she was.

I thought Iliza Shlesinger's Netflix special was pretty solid...
But then I saw the one two years later and it was somewhat the same show...with the same Goat noises and bitching about fake Valley girls. Still she's better than most on the female side.
Schumer repeats herself even more...and does do that "talk about themselves" too much...at least Iliza talks about other girls and things she hates besides herself.
I agree that Schumer reminds me of a chubby Chelsea Handler. And she has no screen presence...Train Wreck was like watching a home movie and you're asking, why is the person up there on the screen? She's not a movie star. She looks like someone you bump into at Target.
You look at the history of female stand-ups and the list is pretty pedestrian. Ellen was actually really good when she first started out in the 80's - Tracy Ullman, etc.
But most women seem to need skits and scripts and an ensemble, like Tiny Fey and Poehler, etc.

I'm aware of all that, but they didn't bury him or run him out of the business.
The minute these same comedians caught wind of Mencia's rising fame they sent that idiot to the bottom of the sea. Now I don't like Mencia at all, but they seem to be rather picky of who and how they out these folks.
Mencia went down because of how he tried to contradict Joe Rogan. He forgot we live in an age where everything is being recorded - once part of his rebuttal story was shown to be a flagrant lie that buried him.
Plus, he wasn't that funny really. If his delivery were special or he wrote some good material of his own I think he would have survived.
Schumer does sorta seem to be just bouncing around right now kinda bewildered by her new notoriety. If she can maintain her likability I think she comes through this intact - because I think that's really one of the things that made her take off. If she spends more time trying to browbeat teenagers telling jokes that she isn't above herself I think that evaporates.
