American Idol is won on who gets the most votes, not on talent. If talent won the show for you, Soul Patrol would have never cracked the top 10.

Haven't read all the pages in this thread, but here's my 2 cents :

1cent : He's not near as good as people are making him out to be. Calm down and listen and watch again. He shrieks in parts of songs that it just doesn't fit. It just doesn't. He can sing in a high pitched voice b/c he's a drag queen. Not just saying that here, he's actually a drag queen. Google image him.

2cent : He won't win. Here's why. He's the hands down favorite right now. He's got judges and people just creaming over him. Who's this remind you of? David Archuletta. Bear with me here...

Mainstream America won't vote for this dude. You over-hype someone enough, mainstream america tends to look for their own person. Also, hetero guys and black people won't vote for a flamer. Everyone thought last year that archuletta won b/c the judges said he did, teenage girls would vote and women would vote. Well guess what, all the blacks that were voting syesha, and guys that were voting syesha (b/c she was hot) jumped on Cook's side and won it for him.

My predition : Kris Allen and Gokey will split votes in the top 3 thus making Adam a lock for final 2. (Matt Giroud might replace one of those two), either way, once the final 2 are in place the "challenger" in this case (allen or gokey) will run over this queen. They'll get the hetero male, the black, and they'll split the female vote (all chicks love kris and older chicks are sympathetic to Gokey's story).

So whether you like the way I put things or not (see : my "blacks" comments), you heard it here first folks....Adam Fagbones Lambert comes in 2nd place in a finale just as shocking as last year.

I think most people besides 10 year old girls could have told you Cook was going to win last year. He obliterated David A in the final voting.

I swear Adam has a voice and range that comes along once every couple of generations. He certainly has the best vocal ability of any male in the history of the show in my opinion. Of course that doesn't mean he is the most marketable or will sell the most albums.

I liken him to Freddy Mercury. Just incredible vocal talent.

This is why the world is failing. You claim Lambert is getting all the attention, did you not follow the Gokey storyline? It would be impossible to miss since it got mentioned on every episode before the finals.

Secondly, I can put on a dress and makeup and dance on stage and call myself a dragqueen too. But that's not going to magically turn me into a phenomenal singer, nor will it magically raise the pitch of my voice.

In general, a lot of the negative comments I read here dissing Adam Lambert are more geared towards him being gay than his singing.

It's 2009 people, wrap your homophobia up, put it in a box, and store it in the attic. It's out of style. Adam's victory will prove that.
