I think I read where New Orleans would also be one of the many locations they will be shooting at

Seriously thought. That was a terrible ending. All they did was tell us things we knew already about bloody face and lana

What the fricking frick was the point of the aliens? That was such a cop out. They just threw aliens in the picture then took them out with no explanation. I'm fricking mad

I thought that last week when Jude said she was gonna fly her arse out of that place.

This season could have been EPIC...

But ultimately its a letdown. Not bad...but could have been so much better.

The aliens thing is odd. We never found out why Kit was so important to them.

I thought I read where next season would be set in the present and that Jessica Lange would play a more glamorous role. She apparently didn't enjoy being all plain and ratty.

Because of his heart and kindness... Which he exhibited again by taking in Jude in the end.

I liked her more as a villain like in the last season. She was only a short lived villain this season.

I liked this finale moreso than the 1st. There was a lot more closure for this one despute their being a couple questions unanswered

The ending was confusing but felt right if that makes sense.

Only part that sucks is that Lana never dies. Shes a count for most of the season.

'WHEN YOU LOOK EVIL IN THE FACE, EVIL LOOKS RIGHT BACK AT YOU'....That was meant to show that the point she was at 'facing her evil son' was all her fault...she decided to pursue her story at briarcliff even after being warned, and it came back full swing on her. She created a monster because she was more worried about chasing her career instead of walking away from it in the beginning...it brings new meaning to another saying 'becareful what you wish for'

But imo...It would have been more effective if Bloody Face killed her.

Why else would she be "evil"? Why else would she say "I'm a part of you too, it's not your fault it's mine", "you have no idea what I'm capable of", "I'm gonna be here when Bloody Face walks through the door". She made the whole thing up for her "story". I need to see that last scene with her and Jude again but I'm pretty convinced and it's the only way it would make for a good ending.

What? No.

To me..the alien thing did tie in. Now we never found out Kit's importance to them outside of sperm donor..but he told his kids they were destined for great things.

His son became a law professor and his daughter became a neurosurgeon. So you have one that learned all aspects of society and another learned how to manipulate people's minds. I took that as some form of infiltration of society closure.

A rational explanation of the alien plot would have just left us with a "wtf" talking point that would have ignored the rest of the show.

While this finale was better than season 1, I'm very meh about it. Very predictable. I will definitely watch season 3 though. I read the AHS imdb boards and people are speculating that some of the season 1 cast members (Dennis O'Hare & Taissa Farmigia) are coming back next season.

It's the writers' fault this episode was middling... because the direction/cinematography were outstanding. Just watched Jude's deathbed scene again and it was very well done through the angel's kiss. Also the aforementioned "over the shoulder" shot ending under the table to show the police report - VERY cool. Hope the folks in charge know that.

Jessica Lange is definitely in for Season 3. She was the first one to say she'd be back.

Yeah that ending was pretty odd. Did anyone else pause and look into Jude's eyes? There was something going on there. In really trying to just take it as their last conversation, but it's hard to not want I read into it so much more.

Overall I think these last few episodes sort of saved the season for me. The beginning of this season was great: total and utter chaos. However, in the middle they never really calmed down and focus on any sort of central plot. It was just sort of haphazardly thrown together it seems. By the Christmas break I was pretty ready to be done with the asylum so I'm glad they started getting out into the 60s/70s culture in the last few.

I just hope next season they get back to the scary and focus in on and really flesh out a few things instead of just scratching the surface with about 16 different story lines.

How could you not? Holy mesmerizing!

She was prophesizing (frickit - can't find the proper spelling for that one).

Was just reading somebody's opinion on the aliens aspect of this story...

It was purely a device to counterweight the religious aspects for the season. Gives an alternate life after death, etc...

Makes sense. If it was all religion religion religion... It may have turned off a significant portion of the audience.
