Why didn't Violet end up routed back into the house the night she and Vivian tried to leave? They got all the way to the car before they turned around. Why didn't she pop in the back door that time? Something to do with the fact she was with Vivian (living)?

I thought the ghost could leave the house at night?

Only on Halloween Night.

Props to the posters who were very perceptive on calling Violet dead starting a few weeks ago.
I don't think Violet particularly likes her situation. But maybe she can choose to move on. I respect Tate for at one time trying to make her think she killed herself, then giving up on that and telling the truth. He stopped being selfish and did what he had to do to not freak Violet out.
This episode made me realize Constance is the most evil character on the show.

I'm thinking Vivien dies giving birth in the house.
I agree with this, or the ghosts in the house are going to kill her to get the babies out or after she has them. Also, I think Ben is going to end up being blamed for both Violet's and Vivien's deaths.
Thing again, every time I have thought I had a handle on what was going to happen I have been wrong.

This show made me realize that Jessica Lang is the most awesome actor on television
Jessica Lang puts on a clinic every week.
Just go ahead and give her the emmy now.

It seems like his only motive was to get Constance's affection, so it was probably a gift for her.

Shoulda just asked for money to buy a new face. That would probably go over better with constance

Thank you for the salty pig meat we are about to eat, along with the rest of the rest of the indigestible swill. And thank you for our new charade of a family. My father ran away when I was only six, and if I had known any better I would have joined him. And, also because she's been trying to get back into this house ever since she lost it, Lord, a big thank you for blinding the a-hole that's doing my mother so he can't see what everybody knows: that she doesn't really love him.
*note to self, never ask Tate to say grace

Come on wouldnt you love for Tate to say grace at a big family gathering like thanksgiving and just tell your whole family tree how it really is?

Definitely enjoyed seeing them address that. I am ready for the finale of this season, just to see how they plan to end it.
it has been discussed in the past that it would be awesome if the entire family dies on the grounds of the house and just become ghosts and introduce a new family next season.
