Seriously. Seems like every other week I have another $5 in rewards on my Stubs Premiere Card.

Dude at the concession stand last week asked if I wanted to use my $15 in rewards and I said, "Nope. I'm saving up to buy my own theater."

AMC trying to get serious. Our local AMC is really nice, all reserved recliner leather seats, has 3d and imax too, no dolby vision/atmos quite yet though.

My wife and I got the moviepass $89.99/yearly membership last year in October ($7.50/mo). We see 2 to 3 movies a month right now. So we're due up again this October to decide what we want to do. This is obviously way more expensive at $19.99/mo, but the premium features (compared to moviepass) are pretty nice - buy in advance online, 3d/imax included.

Sinema is only $14.99/mo, but that's for just 3 movies a month. Which is fine by me. Also has access to all movie theaters, not just AMC. So basically I'd be paying $5 extra a month over Sinema if I wanted to see more than 3 movies in a month, which I'm not sure I've even done since starting moviepass. Sinema might be next subscription service.

I know AMC doesnt "allow" premiere members with moviepass to get the 100 points per dollar on movie tickets, but it still works every time for me at the kiosk stations where I always buy. I wonder if AMC will start to crack down even more on that though

Most subscription programs are under the hope that people forget they subscribed to them.

From an e-mail from the CEO to current A-List members:
quote:

We are holding the line on the pricing of A-List. It goes without saying that for all of you of course, our 12-month price and benefits guarantee from date of enrollment will be fully honored. Your monthly price of $19.95 plus tax will remain unchanged for a full year from the date of your joining. In 35 states, the monthly price for new or renewing members will also stay unchanged at $19.95 plus tax. Given the popularity and growth of A-List, we are making a modest price adjustment in a select number of locations. Beginning January 9 of 2019, in 10 states (Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington) and the District of Columbia, the monthly price for new members (and for renewing members 12 months after they signed up initially) will rise only modestly to $21.95 plus tax; while in 5 states (California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York), it will go up to $23.95 plus tax, still a terrific bargain given the cost of individual movie tickets there. Let me reiterate that for you at AMC, your monthly price of $19.95 plus tax will stay intact without change for 12 full months from the date you joined no matter where you live or visit AMC.

Well that sucks. I'm trying to get a couple of people to join me on A-List. I better get them signed up quick.

Additional FU to MoviePass:

Additionally, today we hereby also are announcing that we will never change your program prices or benefits without giving you at least 90-days advance notice. Having said that, you should also know that beyond what is described in this message, no other changes for the A-List program are envisioned at this time.

Seriously. If they're honest and upfront about the changes, the users will take the hit and move on. Just don't piss on our shoes and tell us it's raining.
