The characters both think they are the shite, they treat everyone around them like crap, and they both consistently speak in shockingly vulgar terms.
It's a combination of writing and McBride's acting style, but it's pretty much a Kenny Powers that never played ball.

That's probably true but you can't be too slow. And you have to give people something to hang around for while you are getting where you are going. So far we have two very unlikable leads which we don't really want to root for. Sure they are kind of interesting but I hope they don't succeed because they are awful people.

It laughed pretty consistently from Gamby criticizing the decorations (after visiting the rival HS) through the end. That is all I need from this show.
Pretty decent character development with the principal and her kids, too, and Gamby becoming more sympathetic toward her. Show seems to be hitting its stride.
