quote:man such a shame this show got cancelled. The last season finale was insane and got real weird in a good way. That show took a lot of chances and delivered 90 percent of the time. The worst thing about that show was the cgi on that snake monster
Definitely felt "Raised By Wolves" energy this epsiode.
Someone summed it up as a “lunatic fever dream of intergalactic religious optometrist craziness.”
I don’t think you can find it anywhere either. Haven’t seen it on Max in a year or two.

It’s almost a parody

Seriously, how does her positronic brain calculate how to manipulate her vocal cords and auditory cavities to make those sounds where nobody else can?
Not even close?
Maybe if Boy Howdy had commented on how they were using different subsystems or variations in structure formations they could slightly get away with something like this. But as far as we know, they are essentially the same designs, but in different models.

All that technical and logical stuff doesn’t matter because we’re doing Peter Pan

Do you know exactly how these snyths are designed and all that they are capable of? I don't.
And why do you assume that none of the other synths can do the same thing?

Oh look SEK is talking to himself again trying to make it seem like someone else in the forum agrees with him.

Are you sitting down?
I watched the show.
Boy Howdy mocks the other girl synth ( don’t care about her name) because she bragged that she learned French.
Then he asked her if she could hear what Wendy is hearing and she said “a little bit“ and unimpressed, Boy Howdy said ‘don’t just tell me what I wanna hear’. Effectively proving that she couldn’t. Whereas Wendy was actually hearing and then reproducing the sounds.
That’s how.

Noah Hawley on the eyeball alien.

”It’s one of the more disturbing things you’ll watch all year, I think,” he says of the sheep attack. “Every 5 percent improvement in visual effects made that sequence a 100 percent ‘worse’ in terms of its effectiveness — and by ‘worse,’ I mean better. I told director Ugla Hauksdóttir in London, ‘For me, the fact that you got the live sheep to back away from the camera [in seeming fear of The Eye], that made the whole sequence right. Because if that had been a CG sheep, there’s something about sheep — being like — us going ‘uh-huh!’ and backing away from camera really sold the gag.”
As for the creature’s design, The Eye was originally just the eye with little legs, until a visual effects supervisor suggested adding these suckers that it could shoot out and pull itself across a room.
“To me, there’s a relentlessness to this that is similar to the face hugger,” he says. “Certainly in James Cameron’s movie [Aliens] where Ripley [Sigourney Weaver] and Newt [Rebecca Jorden] are trying to get away from these things, and they just keep coming, and they’re fast, and they’re scrambling, and they’re spider like a crab. [The suckers] was a really great upgrade for the original conceit where before, it just had to run as fast as it could at you. Now it can fly. And here in Austin, we have the Palmetto bugs fly. A giant roach that flies is always worse than a giant roach that doesn’t. So the fact that it can propel itself, that it can stick to you, and you’re basically trying to fight it off, and it has all these arms and it’s relentlessly trying to get in.”
“Plus, it enters your face,” he adds. “The face hugger literally goes into your mouth, and there’s something really disturbing about that. But everyone has issues with eyeballs. It just felt like it’s designed just to play into that genetic revulsion.”

I was under the impression that the fight that Wendy had with the Xeno damaged her hardware/software in a way where her auditory levels had altered allowing her to pick up the soundwaves from the aliens. An accident that turned into a discovery. That's why they had to re-calibrate her auditory levels to the frequency in which she could hear the aliens again. I assumed that if they did the same thing with the other synths then they could hear it too.
I took Kavalier mocking Curly as just that-him fricking with her.

She was hearing clicks as soon as she hit the crash site. She asked the others if they heard it too…
None did.
None did.
