My question is how did no one notice her walk in and then no one gave a crap she was spasing in the floor just a few hours after they finally got her to wake up.
My guess is that was some sort of mental projection and she is still in the hospital bed.

You can’t be fricking serious

This show is better than 98% of tv right now. You really have to be autistic about the Alien universe not to enjoy it
100% I see comments on RT audience reviews that are like…it’s not even scary!! Like come on and grow the frick up. My favorites are also the ones that are like “this is just terrible writing”
These actors and writers are putting on a fricking clinic but people see Alien and want to boil it down to just a repeat of the first. It’s nauseating.

This is wasted talent. Good acting and visuals, no question. But where's the actual story going?
Why would a random synthetic girl on Earth be so connected to the xenomorph species that's just arrived?
The writers are setting themselves up.

I think this is a plot point that will be explained and will pay off later.

I expect some sort of explainer, I doubt it'll be much of a valid pay off though.

That's a great question. I wonder if it will become more apparent as the episodes progress.

I do not think series has been a "clinic" so far. The adult children are fascinating in theory and annoying in execution, the first 3 episodes basically function as one very long pilot, the references to real life modern day are overly cute and hackneyed.
You seem to be approaching this as if you know though the creators have gone into this project in bad faith. That means you are watching this show in bad faith. We've only seen the beginning. Let it play out, and then complain about the execution we actually see.
But, yeah, it's very clear the writers are setting something up. This is obviously a major part of the season, and you typically want to establish important elements early.

It's possible she can just hear them. Also possible she isn't connected. We are only 3 episodes in. Way too early for wasted anything.

I've had a problem with Alien as a franchise ever since Alien 3. I hate how the basic backstory of the Xenomorphs and Engineers has been retconned & twisted. Or you can say the story lost me when their stories became so intertwined. But enough of that. as for THIS series, I see what's been presented, and I'm not a fan. You call it 'bad faith' but I feel the writers are just making chit up as they go along. From the very start, a massive spaceship & research vessel just coasts into a populated area like it was some out of control cruise liner came off as needlessly absurd.
And then there's the Pete Pan aspect, the Lost Boys of children in adult bodies with OP abilities, none of which they've been trained to deal with or even acknowledge. But sure, Boy Howdy or whatever puts ALL of them, not just a select few, into the very dangerous 'rescue' mission, just because that suits his whimsical fancies.
It's not giving me much hope.

I generally agree with a lot of your opinions and I also enjoy Nerdrotic, Drinker and Film Threat's content. I particularly agree a lot with Mauler's takes. But on this show I completely disagree. I'm enjoying the heck out of this show and I'm not watching any of their content regarding Alien Earth. I definitely see the issues with the show. The adults acting like 10 years olds is getting old quick. As far as the lore, it's been so fricked over since Aliens that I honestly don't even care anymore and I'm in my 50's and Alien is one of my favorite movies of all time.
What I'm trying to say is, for this one show, try and disconnect from Nerdrotic and the other podcasts in that sphere. This show, even with it's faults, is not nearly as terrible as they're making it out to be. I enjoy those podcasts too, but you have to know when to keep them at arms length.

Despite the flaws, I'm still in. The look & cast has me mostly interested.

Correct. The aliens don’t behave in a way that’s consistent with any of the movies or lore
Instantly killing masses of people? That isn’t how they hunt solo and it’s unrealistic
Flipping over cargo containers in an instant? It doesn’t make any sense

This is how the numbers get manipulated, people keep watching bad shows.

Well, I’m giving it a try. There is also a lag in quality shows right now, I’m actually using a 30 day free trial of Amazon to rewatch The Expanse. (If I could buy physical media for that show I would.)

The Expanse is the best Sci-Fi show ever. Sorry Firefly fans and fans of fake robots.
M/tv rewatch group would be cool.

I’d like to think Firefly could have had similar run ( for 5 years maybe) if given a chance.

Also thanks to SyFy for dropping The Expanse

Watching up on E3 now, and I find myself just bored a good bit. I’m trying hard to love this show but I fear I may have set the bar too high for it going in. And it’s not bad, per as, I think it’s just more disappointing than anything. The acting is bad bad, and the decisions by the characters don’t make much sense.
I almost had to check out when the Indian and black dudes were dude-bro’ing each other for five straight minutes. That was awful.
The insanity of everybody on this show finding some new and very clearly dangerous creature or thing, and immediately putting their faces right up to them is astonishing.
So the Wendy synth slaughters the xenomorph in a few seconds? Wow.
For an animal that kills so easily and so quickly, it seems odd that Wendy’s brother keeps getting spared and sort of just toyed with by the xeno. It literally slaughtered a room full of grown adults in about 30 seconds, but can’t seem to kill this dude in multiple tries.
The trillionaire kid genius dude is a really, really bad actor. And he sort of looks like a human version of Sid from Ice Age.
Am I the only one who thinks the xenomorph just looks sort of….off? I’m not sure what it is, but it just looks slightly off for some reason. Almost like it’s too smooth.
How did the eggs get on the ship? I assume there has to be a queen somewhere in addition to the one that was hunting everyone.
This black cyborg dude. Why is he eating? Do cyborgs need food?
The visuals of the black cyborg downloading the computer information into his brain was cool looking.
I’m not sure why they’d be concerned that Wendy “died.” She’s basically a person’s memories uploaded into a synthetic body. Seems like they could very easily just upload her into a new one in a matter of minutes, no?
They’re keeping the creatures in containers but leaving the eggs out in the open? Even when they know (per Olyphant) that they are harmful to people? And that’s a hell of a lot to deduce from him simply seeing a body with its chest burst open.
So Wendy is now sort of telekinetically connected to the aliens now? Weird.
I’ll catch up on the thread in the morning. Just wanted to get my thoughts written down in here while I was watching.
