And it was obvious the kid was gay, but he wasnt' acting gay in the show until these last 2 episodes where he went flaming gay, completely different than how he was acting the first 5 episodes.
Literally was coming here to post this. Me and the wife actually loved the first 5 episodes, but the last 2 seem to have placed emphasis on making being queer the first priority

I don’t mind the overt gayness of the show as much because the show is
so
well
written.
The set ups and payoffs make sense. They enrich the characters and their relationships.
The way they wove Lilia’s quirks into something meaningful not only to the plot of the episode, but also throughout in the entire show, demonstrates careful and sincere craftsmanship. Each trial reveals a little bit more about each character and each trial changes them significantly.
Hahn is off the charts great in this especially after Billy’s big reveal. I’m really looking forward to her facing off with Plaza in this finale.
If they can stick the landing with this one it will go down as better than WandaVision. It’ll be top 3 D+ series along with seasons 1 & 2 of Mandalorian, Loki, and Endor.

Patti LuPone might get an Emmy nomination for this last episode.
I didn't have high expectations for this show, but I have really enjoyed it.

Can any regulars comment?
I read that the last episode was dumb as frick.

The second to last episode really should have been the finale. I enjoyed the last episode, but most of it should have been swapped with the episode before it.

I was fine with the order. We were left guessing about Agatha’s form as she crept up on Billy. Having the backstory last changed the tone/pacing in a good way.
This show stuck the landing by keeping Billy & Agatha in the gray area. Not perfectly good; not perfectly bad. Neither of them get off the hook for what they did. Billy’s remorse was much more believable than Wanda’s.
They found the perfect character for Aubrey Plaza. She was having so much fun with this one.
Top 3 D+ series easily.
IMO, Emmy noms for:
Limited Series
Hahn
Locke
Plaza
LuPone
Writing
Costume
Art Direction

I thought it was a pretty good show, minus the flaming gay shite in episodes 5 and 6.

Great series. I was telling my wife why the show worked.
Small cast of characters
Don't bounce scenes all over the world taking weight away from scenes
Higher stakes (life and death)
Better love stories
Have Kathryn hahn and Aubrey Plaza make out

From the moment this show was announced I had little to no interest. The first few episodes were average to bad, I stopped watching for a few weeks there. But I started to hear good stuff about the show, and I finished it today. I have to say they really did a good job on the last few episodes. The entire season really with how they wrote things. I'm pleasantly surprised.

So, it's over and there won't be a season 2?
Basically The Acolyte of the MCU?

I liked it but I'm a Marvel nerd.

Not even close.
This was actually a good show.

So, it is getting a 2nd season?
Posted on 11/1/24 at 7:10 pm to SouthEasternKaiju
It’s a limited series where the titular character died. Why would you expect there to be a season 2? Her ghost will appear in the eventual spin-off they make about the gay kid finding his brother. Just like this was a spinoff of WandaVision.

So, totally worth the money spent.
Cool.
Cool.

I’m sure they agree since they only spent $30m for the series. Maybe they can learn some budgetary lessons from this, but I’m not holding my breath.

When it doesn't get a season 2, good luck convincing him it was for logical reasons.
