Actors who pick up the mantle when another actor dies

Here's my list of actors who were cast in roles we could envision for a dead actor around the same age, taking that actor's trajectory:
- Leonardo Dicaprio took up River Phoenix's mantle
- James Franco took up Heath Ledger's mantle
- Britney Murphy?

- Jackie Chan took up the mantle of Bruce Lee

The first thing I thought was Belushi to Farley but I wouldn't put James in the same arena with those two. James is funny at moments and i won't shite on him but he is a different style actor as the other two. Belushi and Farley were cut from the same cloth in terms of being very physical comedians, they used their bodies as punch lines and there isn't anyone who has been able to pick that up since Farley passed.
If I was going to go with a ine of succession, it would go Belushi > Carrey > Farley > obsolete.
