About a Boy was predictably awful

It looked terrible in the promos, but I gave it a shot just because I like the movie. American Will is not funny and the kid might be but has nothing funny to say. The love interest might have been more interesting if it wasn't Minnie Driver.

o/u 4 episodes.

There's an American version now? That's terrible. The Hugh Grant movie was great.

I watched the first episode. Meh, I kinda like the guy that plays Will but not in this.

NBC pumped out a shitty rip off TV show out of About a Boy. The sad thing is that I actually like the guy that is playing Will but the show is awful.

My brother worked in post production on the movie. Name's in the credits and everything. True story.

Like the other poster said, it's a TV series version of the movie, which was hilarious. The guy who plays Will just kind of looks stoned the whole time, and the concept doesn't translate to TV at all.

It's as if the movie had continued from the ending, and there just isn't anything interesting for them to do anymore.

My favorite part is Will's narrations, especially when he meets Marcus' mom.

The Fishers show that came on after it was better but still not very interesting. Too formulaic.

I liked it better than the Fisher show. Nothing special though.

What about the soundtrack? The original film had a great Badly Drawn Boy soundtrack.

Watch the movie from seven or so years ago with Hugh Grant. A little quirky but really a good movie. Rachel Weisz was quite fetching in that one as well.
