I gave 3.5/5. That final scene was pretty great and I liked Isaac's calm and collective demeanor, I wasn't expecting that going in. I thought there would be more violence and a quicker pace. The restraint A Most Violent Year showed made it an intense and suspenseful watch.

Damn, I feel bad that I didn't finish it. I was kind of bored with it, but also intrigued just enough. But I ended up having to turn it off and never made myself finish it. I've heard from a few people now that the ending was pretty solid.

I saw it in theaters expecting Isaac as mega bad arse gangster so I was completely disappointed.
I rewatched it and liked it a lot more this time. Isaac is awesome in it and I appreciate his characters approach.

Good flick, but I usually enjoy slow burn type movies like this. Isaac is great, Chastain strong too.

Yeah I had high hopes for this movie, but it was pretty boring throughout.

The pacing works so well for the movie. You see everything turning to shite for so long and he's refusing to give in for what seems like an eternity.

Never seen The Expendables.
The movie wasn't terrible and Isaac did a good job but I kept waiting for the build up and it sort of just ended.

Very good movie and great study of Isaac's character. I like movies with underlying tension.
