Yeh the actual toms restaurant is in Harlem, but there is no way Jerry was actually going to Harlem

ETA: technically it’s one block west of Harlem, but point stands.

That area was so gentrified by the time I visited, it was nothing like the Harlem of cinema
We went to some bbq place with live music around the corner from the Cotton Club, and the only black guy there was in the band.

The Hollywood/NYC elitist that produce TV shows don't consider SI part of NYC. The people living there don't generally adhere to Hollywood's "values". The only thing they've accepted out of SI is the Wu Tang Clan and some of the bozos on the Jersey Shore
