Wait, why did the Academy decide to have Mirren and Fonda present Best Lead Actor instead of last year's Best Actress winner Emma Stone? It's not like Stone wasn't available. She presented Best Director earlier tonight. Why was it switched up this year?

Probably because Casey Affleck isn’t presenting the Best Actress award. So they change it up a bit, have stone do best director and take less attention off why Affleck isn’t there.
