Hmm. Probably not. The older I get, the more cynical I become about romantic love anyway. I think that if the relationship gives them both what they want, then it can work as long as there is respect. I think respect is the common component missing in all of them.

Totally agree.
I do believe Matt and Alla respect each other and I think they dated significantly longer than the other couples, so that gives me hope for them.

There was an episode last week that combined all the online shorts and updated us on Matt and Alla. I've come around on Alla, I think she does love him now and I also think it was a very mature thing for her to say when she said she wasn't sure she loved him way back when. The real issue is that there are reasons he's been married 4 times, and those reasons are his family and friends. Alla is pushing him to change his life because it is now their life and his count friend Patrick is trying to get him to refuse and the rest of his family is just trying to pull Matt back into their weird circle.
Edit: I definitely didn't mean count, he's not a Transylvanian number-fiend, he's a C U Next Tuesday and the site doesn't like that word, apparently,

Patrick... Sometimes I feel like I'm the Patrick in my circle of friends. I'm impressed with how far Max's English has come along! He seems to be adjusting well to life in America.
Speaking of Patrick, I think he alluded to one of Matt's ex-wives being a stripper. I'm guessing Matt's a serial husband primarily due to poor choices in women and probably being a little too tolerant of their sleazy behavior.

yeah i always assumed matt was too much of a nice guy
alla came around, and it may have been a cultural thing for her too especially since she has been through dramatic change such as communists russia then ukraine becoming an independent nation.

Probably a combination of doormat & picking broken women, thinking he can convert them (assuming based on the stripper thing). I think Alla’s reserved/aloof nature is probably good for him. He wants to please her, and she wants effort. It works.
