I had a former friend who did this. Homely chick who married an attractive guy from Turkey. He left as soon as he got his green card. She kept his last name, and still has it 10 years after they got divorced. Even though they were only married for a year or two. I think she thinks it makes her more exotic, but it’s just kind of pathetic.
