3 perfect science fiction films that didn't need remakes and the remakes were trash.

1. Total Recall
2. RoboCop
3. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
These three films are fricking masterpieces and didn't need shite remakes. They are timeless and are still enjoyed by the original fans and new fans. Also, the remakes happened to be complete dog shite.

I didn’t mind the Total Recall remake. It was entertaining. I forgot the Robocop remake exists.

Total Recall was shite.
Arnold and the one liners made the original a classic. Only saving grace was Kate Beckinsale and.. Biel? Is that who the other female lead was?

Watched it last week. Great movie.

I actually thought Total Recall remake was a different take, but not bad. Nothing on the Arnold classic but fine for a quick watch

Yeah the hate for it always seemed over the top

Correct.
Essentially, "Space Seed" from TOS was rebooted.

Judge Dredd got a lot better.

Total recall was annoying.
The whole mars visual world could be badass with updated versions and methods of film making.
That's a film that I would welcome a reboot of with chris pratt being 0% star lord-ish..and not so much "Passengers" either..
Ehh..Send his arse back to space. It makes money.

Correct.
Into Darkness was the Khan reboot.

I don't get why people get so bent out of shape over remakes. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they aren't. IMO the hit to miss ratio is about the same as the hit to miss ratio of original IP.
The Blob, The Thing, Dredd, 12 Monkeys, and The Fly are all excellent sci fi/horror movie remakes that surpass the originals.

As someone said it was the retelling of the Space Seed.
But even then it's a happier ending as they probably avoided Wrath of Khan with Prime Spock telling them JJ Spock not to leave Khan to his own devices.
No dead wife and compatriots caused by Kirk exiling him, no suicidal need for revenge.
