he average lifespan of a living human is 70+ years. Add to that the constant cycle of infection and the cycle in this scenario goes on indefinitely until there are no longer any uninfected. Then the species dies out. The beauty of this set up is there is no chance for a happy ending…we saw that in “weeks”. All it takes is one person infected to destroy everything
You say that, but in weeks the infected had essentially starved. It took such a high degree of stupidity to re-ignite the outbreak that it almost can't be believed, and why didn't the infected starve after the second outbreak. It seems the virus would either lead to a quick extinction or burn itself out in about 28 weeks. I'm anxious to see how both humanity and the virus held on this long.

Rudyard Kipling reciting “Boots” as the implication for the theme of the film is legitimately horrifying.
Yes, the circumstances themselves are horrifying but - kind of like The Road - the sense that nothing can or will get better, that the daily slog of survival and fighting is all that there is left and that’s its own kind of Hell takes it from a monster movie to a psychological horror.

Wasn’t it at the end of Weeks that we’re left with the cliffhanger of the helicopter crashing in France and the shot of infected at the Eiffel Tower? Seems like this isn’t just an England thing anymore but a worldwide apocalypse which would explain why it has persisted

quote:consider ebola...the reason ebola hasnt wiped out humanity is that it's fatal, almost 100%, and kills quickly. the rage virus does not kill the host. individual infected may die of starvation but the speed and virulence of new infection is always adding to the infected population.

as long as there remain uninfected, there will always be infected. it ends when there are no more uninfected. also...there are 8 billion people on earth LOL

28 years later trailer
That looks great. And that poem in the trailer was a great decision. That was creepy as shite.
I don't like Weeks as much as others do, but Days is one of the best horror/zombie movies of all time. It's incredible.
I'd definitely like to see CM in these though.

fricking IN.
I’ll never forget back in 03’ when Days was released and social media of any kind was in its infancy stage. No one knew what it was from the trailer. My brother and I went to see it and we were blown away.
The first one is the only one I've seen, and it was really novel and alot of fun to watch.

That zombie is 100% Cillian - wonder if that's his only role?
Can't wait to see this regardless

28 weeks later opening scene is the best scene in zombie genre history
Rest of the movie is alright
Rest of the movie is alright

The kids at the start of the trailer and the implication on how screwed they are is really unsettling.

Just checked Prime, looks like Days is available for rent for $3.99. I'm stoked, haven't watched it since I rented it from Blockbuster many moons ago.

The first time I played that iOS game, Plague Inc?, I set the fatality at 99%, but I also set the incubation period before symptoms are shown to something like 6 weeks. The world was dead in three months.
