Went last night with the wife. We did a rewatch of the two previous movies before we went and saw this. Honestly I did lower my expectations after reading this board. It was an 820 pm start time. This movie exceeded my expectations because it kept me guessing and the action was pretty damn intense throughout the movie. It had a story line and the infected had different stages with fat ones and the Alpha dudes were definitely an Apex predator. Definitely was good knowing that the ending was kinda WTF but its sets up for the next one. 7/10 for the wife and I and I definitely will go see the next one.

I just browsed this thread and I don't think anyone brought up the whole baby thing? I mean, the crazy mother holds hands with an infected while she gives birth, spewing blood everywhere and that's all just fine and dandy? What in the actual frick was the point of all of that? I almost walked out of the theater at that point.

It would've been pretty good horror if the mother went straight to eating on the unaffected child.

6.5/10

Really enjoyed the first half but didn’t get into the boy and his mother trying to get to the doctor.

The ending felt like a power rangers movie and I was waiting for Jack O’Connell to break out in song.

Really enjoyed it. Had been warned the ending was a bit bizarre, but enjoyed it well enough. Can't wait to see what kind of crazy back story the Jimmies have. The bridge crossing scene with the Alpha chasing them was one of the best scenes of the entire series. More of that please, that was intense.

Some of the music choices were excellent and some were downright awful. The opening scene matched the campiness and bizarreness of the ending.Oh and the whole sappy mom skull bit was really weird in a movie of weird. Other than that, thought it was great and shot really well. Looking forward to the sequel. I think I saw somewhere it should be coming out in early 2026.

I don’t understand the hate for the Jimmies. Jack is at his best when playing an unhinged character so I’m excited to see how the sequel plays out. Coincidentally, Bone Temple releases in 28 weeks (Jan 16).

Over all I liked it.

It was one of those stories were the boy (Spike) wants to save his mom out of love for her, at all costs and makes stupid youthful, risky decisions while doing so. Even though is is a hopeless situation. Many of us thought like that when a child.

I think Spike seeing his dad trying to score some on the side had a major effect on him causing him to, want to be the man to take care of his mom. Spike has yet to understand adult needs and wants.

In the end I noticed Jimmy is wearing his cross the priest gave him upside down. Did he put it on wrong or will it have meaning if there is a sequel?

Noticed the upside down cross as well. Gotta assume he’s a crazy cult leader at this point but going to hope that team of tracksuit ninjas have some redeeming qualities. Reminded me of something out of Hannah and/or a Guy Ritchie movie.

Saw this past weekend and still cannot believe just how terrible this was. Were there good scenes? I guess the first half was alright? The alpha chasing them through the water was as tense as it got, but at no point did anyone actually believe they were actually going to get caught by it, just like nobody actually believe spike and the mom were actually going to get killed on their journey (more on that later)

Main takeaways:
The 2nd movie ended with infected going into Paris. There was never any mention of that. All they did was say the virus was contained to the mainland UK and kept there, while the rest of the world is still okay? wtf? And youre telling me after 28 years of the virus living over there, youre dont just nuke the entire area and destroy everything?
The beginning was stupid. The flashbacks to old wartimes was stupid. The music was stupid. The priest and his dialogue was just weird. GF turned to me at that point and said "1 star so far". Didnt really get better
Why tf are we bring a 12 year old to the mainland where the infected are?? Killing for sport? how fricking dumb. The previous movies said it took 5 weeks for the infected to die of starvation, but now those fat mfrs can survive on eating worms? nobody can survive on that in real life. They didnt even explain how they mutated into different types of infected? Just here you go, accept it as fact and believe this would happen
Again, at no point did anyone believe the alpha was going to catch them.
Then, the kid just brings his sick mom on a ridiculous Lord of the Rings adventure to maybe find a doctor? When the mom already knew she was sick and was going to die? what was the point? The mom even said at the end she should have just told him. Like yeah you should have and saved us all 2 hours
What was even the point of the eric guys character? he was there for 3 minutes. Oh but he saved their lives!!! Nobody thought they would let those 2 die before they reached their destination of the doctor. Wouldve made the movie actually pointless
And the doctor. As soon as the dad said he was a wackjob, everyone knew he in fact was going to be not a wackjob. Hes been observing that alpha for a long time and just let it live??? He somehow hasnt attracted mobs of these infected to him over the last 15 years?? They were never going to kill the doctor off so the scene where they acted like the alpha was just going to end everything right there in the little cage they hid in was stupid
Then when they finally tell us the mom has cancer, the doctor just drugs the child and takes his mom out to pasture, then incinerates her body and gifts her skull to the 12 year old??? but it was beautiful cinema and he placed her at the highest point facing the sunrise!!! frickkkk offfffff
then the ending. we got some god damn parkour ninjas in fresh clothes?
I didnt even mention the baby. That may have been the dumbest part of the entire movie. How tf does a zombie lady get pregnant? an alpha? ok, then how tf is the offspring of 2 infected somehow not infected? Such a dumb scene. the zombie mother wouldnt even react to a birth and sure as shite wouldnt hold hands with a non infected person during it. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT BETWEEN MOTHERS. frick you
The dad doesnt even go after his kid and wife? then tries to act all emotional at the end once the baby gets returned to them?

And now apparently they made another one of these abominations to follow this one up?
I cannot boo loud enough

they are not zombies (reanimated dead) they are infected living. She got pregnant in the usual way. And the doctor did mention that the placenta kept the child from getting infected

it’s ok to not enjoy what was a very strange movie; I can understand it’s not for everyone but I thought it was excellent

Alpha chase scene was one of the best scenes in recent memory.

The rest of the movie was just fricking strange and all over the place, capped off by whatever the hell that ending was.

I didn’t catch it as an American but it’s supposed to be a call back to Jimmy Saville who was a popular British childrens’ entertainer for years but got exposed as a pedo after his death

I rewatched in theaters last week and it was just as good the second time. I’m glad we only have to wait until January for Bone Temple.
