Strange Darling and A Different Man were the two best movies released this year. As always, the best films get snubbed. No one likes Emilia Perez. What a joke.

Where can you watch/stream Anora and The Brutalist?

Anora is a $10 rental on most apps. Not sure when it will be free. It’s my pick for Best Picture. It was a lot funnier than I was expecting.

Are you too stupid to check your area and see if its playing? I have AMC theaters saved in my favorites in Columbus, OH, Baton Rouge, LA and Houston, Tx. It's showing at all three of those this weekend.

The hilarious part of this is if Gladiator II wins Best Costume Design, in the old days this would have meant every DVD and VHS cover would have had the tag "2025 Oscar Winner!"

I enjoyed this movie, but Rossellini had like 7 minutes of screen time.

Beatrice Straight won that same award for Network and only was on screen for five minutes (she also killed it too).

I just happened to stumble upon Conclave the other day. Loved it. Had no idea it would be up for an Oscar.

The Substance for Best Picture? That's pretty silly. The list of nominees feel like Hollywood trying a last-ditch effort to make the Oscars relevant again by appearing "with it."

It’s not going to win. Demi Moore is the favorite for Best Actress though.

This is the only one of the Best Picture nominees I've seen. If it's in comparable company then this is a woeful arse year for movies.

Feels like a worst ratings ever sorta year.

Not sure why anyone would watch an award show for a bunch of movies nobody saw.

I was honestly disappointed by this, but to each his own.

They saw the writing on the wall years ago when they expanded the best picture nominees from 5 to 10.

If it were capped at 5 there would almost never be a single popular film in the nominees ever. Having up to 10 nominees allow them to throw out welfare nominations to poplar films solely to try to go up normie interest.

Hollywood is incapable of making great movies general audiences actually want to see anymore. Modern audiences also share the blame because they wouldn't go even if they were made, sort of a chicken and egg situation.

Ironically the gay organization GLAAD has its own movie awards and Emilia Perez didn’t get a single nomination. I have no idea who is actually enjoying this movie, let alone voting for it.

2023 - Oppenheimer was very popular, it made $976 Million
2022 - Everything Everywhere All at Once made $143 Million, it wasnt exactly a movie that no one heard of.
2021 - CODA was a great movie. It was a streaming movie so no box office numbers

Modern audiences are more to blame than the movies, the great movies are out there, you just have to watch them.

Best Actress Nom is missing that crucial 2nd X chromosome.
