Maybe it all sunk in the boat? I mean they didn’t have debit cards back then so I can see him quite literally carrying around cash, and you get in a boat wreck and bye bye

He had money to buy first class tickets on the liner they were on after the tug.

of course. Every popular show Taylor Sheridan gets he throws the brakes on it because he has no idea how to write an actual story for tv.

Despite my criticism of him, the fact that he’s had as many as 4 running shows at a time would discount “ he has no ideas how to write an actual story for tv.”

I’m 15 minutes into this first episode and it’s like I’m watching porn.

Yeah between that and the rape scene watching it with the wife was a little awkward.

He has great concepts and ideas but no idea how to execute past a handful of episodes or seasons.

The fact he has an all-star cast for 1923 and is dragging it out is absolutely dumb. Took 2 years to get season 2 and apparently he's still delaying the plot.

Sheridan apparently needs to make sure we know Dalton is a twisted and controlling individual.

Other than that, I'm not seeing the point.

Those broads have some pretty nice bods though...

yeah, i really hope that isn't the case. Been waiting 2 years for Spencer to show up and wreck shite. And now we have to watch the whole season of Spencer's trip to Montana, Alex's trip to America and the ranch slowly dying?

Jacob sees a lion on his porch and just scare it off "hoping" it doesn't come back and nearly loses another family member because of his carelessness?

Sheridan takes a page out of the Outlander playbook with the gay rape scene?

I do like how the captain handled it. Oh, this guy raped you? Bang! won't happen again.

The "bring out the gimp" scene was out there! Chick wakes up, climbs into the tub then, "go get your toy".

Curious, is the double barrel shotgun the same one the Tate used to shoot the guy with who was attacking Monica?

Also, life must have sucked back then when you had to hide out in some sleazy speak easy to have a drink.

I rarely gasp while watching tv/movies, but this scene with the horse made me. I just didn't see it coming.

I'm guessing the guy in the tribute tribute was Mo's brother?

Yeah, it was brutal, but no more brutal than how different groups of people treated other groups of people throughout history. Even how native American tribes treated other native American tribes might be more brutal than how the US government treated native Americans. The difference being that tribes would slaughter everyone and enslave the rest while the US government slaughter a lot of them and then just rounded up survivors and push them onto reservations where they lived in perpetual poverty. The US government just did it on a larger scale because of the advancement of technology such as rifles, artillery and trains, advanced governmental coordination, and the spread of diseases. But if one native American tribe had the same advantages they would've done the same things or worse to the other tribes.

But with that said, I hate this storyline for the show, and it better tie-in to the Dutton storyline somehow down the line or it's just a huge waste of time imo.

Well since the girl who apparently couldn't wait to get laid is an Ancestor of Thomas Rainwater.

I mean the 1923 Dutton storyline, not the Yellowstone series Dutton storyline. It better tie-in with this series' Dutton storyline, because if not it's just a huge waste of time. Thomas Rainwater was a secondary character that wasn't even responsible for getting the Yellowstone other than getting a gift handed to him by Kayce. Heck, it can be argued that Tate and Monica's ancestors are more important that Rainwater's

agreed. i don't mind it as a storyline and it's an often forgotten about (and perhaps exaggerated, e.g. Canadian mass graves) If it's just being added for the sake of making sure we talk about how bad America was in an otherwise non-connected story, it's a waste.

Hostiles is one of my favorite Westerns in the last few years and I know it's going to talk about and deal with the mistreatment of tribes, but that's the focus of the movie. So far this just seems shoehorned in for "woke points"

I stumbled on a possible financial way for Jacob to pay the taxes on the Ranch.

The fellow Spencer saved from the attack said his cousin's last name was Maceo from Galveston and he would be rewarded for saving his life.

Well, as it turns out, the Maceo Organization was a huge crime syndicate that was a powerful bootlegging and gambling entity that pretty much had their hands in all vice's. It's an interesting read if you ever want to take a look.

Maceo Crime Organization Of Galveston

This would seem to pose one possible way of saving the ranch with Mafia money.

Episode 1 was great. The beautiful scenery and cinematography was on point again. I love how it depicted the struggles during the winter that Yellowstone never really dwelled upon. While a lot of people complain about it being too slow I think a lot of that has to do with today streaming and people staying home and binging whole seasons in a day. That has kind of ruined people. Season 2 seems a little darker which I love. The actor Spencer will be the next big thing in Hollywood IMO

If they don’t have a season 3 I would hope they would have another show that ties in between 1923 and 1944. I still think they needed an episode to tie into 1883 ending and in between 1923 to give us more information. They could do a whole spinoff on Spencer and Alex.

They finished filming the Madison and should be out sometime after summer.
