Out of curiosity what is the compensation for a coach at a school like Zachary? Does the HC have to teach a few PE classes and get standard teacher pay or does he get an above average salary?
Heard Zachary is offering Central's Sid Edwards a compensation package in excess of $100,000. Heard he actually might be interested since Central is struggling to come up with the $$$ they promised.

Sid really has it made at Central...he's not teaching a single class, he's not certified, the assisstant coaches run the team and a lot of them aren't in the classroom. He's not going to have that luxury at Zachary.
Funny thing is Zachary could have had Sid before without throwing money at him. I would be very surprised if he becomes the next HC.

Yeah but can Central afford him now that the new school tax was voted down? Pretty sure they were counting on those $$$ to help pay Sid.
Is it true they have keep Sid $$ jars scattered around Central businesses?

^ I'm sure the Central Mafia knows how to get a hold of some money.

^ Why did Drake want Lamar Thomas gone?
Lemoine is said to have fudged some numbers dealing with school expulsions so they won't affect schools tests scores as much, BESE looking into that. Also the incident with Lemoine staying away from certain secretaries...again...kind of hurt.

LT is still on board. Could change soon. Depending on how much leverage Howell has in his next job - Capt. Shreve, Comeaux, Erath, all possible at this point

What I heard was that Drake's son was a linebacker coached by Thomas. He felt that his son regressed as a player from his Junior to Senior season and did not get recruited thus blaming Thomas for that... Sounds petty, but that is what I heard started the chain of events. Plus Howell is somewhat arrogant and may have not taken the "suggestion" kindly

What you 'heard' is a skewed piece of the truth. Thomas has been there 4 years, did the boy regress from jv to varsity, maybe he just isn't as good as Daddy thinks.

What suggestion? Howell was told to fire Thomas, that's not a suggestion, that is a misuse of position by Drake.
Howell is not arrogant. Little cocky maybe.....

You gotta be a little arrogant to be cocky.
No, you don't. Two different things.
Zachary pay scales are posted on their web site. You just may be amazed at how much anybody employed by Zachary schools gets paid.

I was told he was getting paid in the $150,000.00 area.
SAY WHAT????? no way that could be correct

The "'s around suggestion were meant as sarcasm. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.
Hopefully there is more of a reason than what I 'heard' because Howell has done a remarkable job at Zachary.

$150,000 would put him in the category of what a school superintendent makes - even with an independent school district no way a football coach makes that kind of money

Hud Jackson is a possibility from what I've been told.

Yes, really. Literally.

You were pretty much mislead. Besides, doesn't matter which step he is on, adding head coach compensation to the highest teachers salary listed comes nowhere near that figure.

Yeah, wasn't sure so I just clarified a bit.

I'll stop trying to argue with you whether being cocky and being arrogant are mutually execlusive or not.
Never said you could only be one or the other. So thanks for staying on track.
Bob's salary is his business, not ours. However, the $100+ someone mentioned earlier as being what may be offered to certain possible replacements, that is insanely more than has historically been paid. Plus, one of the 'candidates', to my understanding, isn't yet certified to teach?
