I don’t understand how the texts are a “sick burn”

The thing is people dont really care about the cheating. Sure, tom may be a piece of trash, but no one really cares in the context of him as a coach. And yet, hes out here acting like hes dropping career ending bombshells. And herman gave a perfect reply

I don’t think anybody is suggesting Herman is innocent. But if this is in the past, what the hell is that gonna do?
If Herman and his wife have already dealt with this, then basically Texas can only be pissed if he lied to them about screwing someone in the past.

It’s negative publicity. I’m sure there are some UT attorneys that can be his PR machine.
Again, if this doesn’t involve lying or deceit to the university, then there isn’t much more to it.
