I haven't seen embellishment called for three or four years and that is the second one I've seen called in the playoffs this year.
There was an absolutely egregious one called on the Bolts a couple of years ago. I'm trying to think of which players were involved. It might even have been rat face Marchand doing one of those nut checks.

It was just after the goal so it counted but usually when penalties after goals happens it's for fighting, not whatever that was.

That's what I figured dude. I've seen it happen in my HS games where people want to fight after a goal. You are wearing a full cage or full shield.. and punching with gloves. If you took wither off, you are a moron. The refs tackle you ASAP. All that is doing is getting you kicked out of the game.
Obviously, it's a bit different in the NHL. Douche Bettman makes them all wear the half-shield now unless you are older and were grandfathered into it.
What draws casual or first-viewer fans (especially the chicks)? The fighting and the big hits. Let's eliminate that and try to expand the game. How dumb are these people? They must be leftists.

That's one of the reasons I started playing hockey myself.
I wish my mom had let me play hockey when my friends that did asked me to. Their parents even offered to carpool since practice was an hour away but she still wouldn't let me. I think it came down to my mom didn't want to invest in the gear when I could just play baseball and basketball combined and it wouldn't be as expensive. I do go ice skate every time the River Center has it though, and I played roller hockey with friends at times.
I think one of the biggest detractors of Americans embracing hockey outside of the North/Northeast is not enough people grow up playing it. But just objectively as a game it's fast paced like basketball, physical and hitting like football, even has some fights peppered in for combat sports fans though that's being phased out gradually. It should honestly be a sport all Americans should embrace and love but too many just aren't raised supporting it.

Im.not fluent in hockey rules, but did that not make contact with a high stick?
Posted on 4/22/23 at 12:28 am to BlackCoffeeKid
The puck soun changed so yes, it hit the stick. But the ZZ top dude AI'd the replay.

It was too hard to tell if the Kings player hit the puck with a high stick. So the goal stands.

I saw nothing conclusive. Maybe there’s something, but what I saw on the tube was inconclusive.

Oilers radio broadcast is ripping the refs for the Draisaitl and Desharnais penalties.

It did look like the puck changes trajectory in the air. But I didn't seen an angle that showed clear contact with the stick and the puck. Controversial for sure but I feel like it wasn't the reason the goal was scored

That's how I saw it as well.

Oilers radio broadcast is still fuming over the Draisaitl penalty after an Oilers goal that gave the Kings a subsequent power play goal. I was watching the other game, so I didn't see it.

It was a little soft but at the end of the day he hit his legs (purposely even though it wasn't a baseball swing) with his stick while confronting him after the goal was scored so it was textbook. Should have just gone celebrated with his teammates and it would have all been avoided.

It wasn't hard but he still forcefully went for his legs with his stick and the play was over. People are mad because he didn't do it forcefully enough to cause injury or something so they're calling it soft, but still it was unnecessary.

Where's John Brinkus when you need him? This is right up his alley.
