watching these exhibitions so far, the hand checking is getting annoying but if people get it down, it should make things better. refs are calling it all over the place, so it seems like the onus is on the players to not do it, because it's gonna get called.

I don't think people have any idea how much this rule is going to change the game. I know college basketball isn't exactly at the forefront of the media machine, but I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about this rule change.

Here's a video on some of the changes. Get ready for virtually unimpeded movement for the offensively skilled. The game is about to be all about attacking, it'll be fun to watch that's sure.

I love the hell out of the new rule change. Now we just have to get to a shorter shot clock.

SEC - UF
National Champ - UF

Might as well be optimistic. We have the pieces, and I don't think UK is the slam dunk a lot of people make them out to be.

I think Florida ends up being the biggest disappointment just on the fact that they can't keep a full allotment of scholarship players on the bench. And it's not all just suspensions either.

I really like the rule change as well. Defense is important, but college basketball was tough to watch at times the last couple seasons. Basketball was meant to be played up-and-down the court with plenty of scoring.

Seriously the college game has been painful to watch at times in recent years.

They have been a slam dunk 3 of Cal's first 4 seasons. I think it is just stupid to use last season as referendum on this years team.

I blame Wisconsin's coach.

They just play slow. I blame allowing teams like Louisville to hack people on their way to a championship.

I'm watching LSU right now and it's way overboard. Whistle on every possession. It sucks.

They will overcall it in all the exhibition games, so the players can get it into their heads.

Bo Ryan's teams are rough to watch. Games shouldn't end in the 50's or low 60's.

Somehow I knew this would end up happening.

The injury bug that's crept up along with the suspensions. I read an article last week with the Sentinel (I think) that listed 5-6 of your guys with various hamstring, ankle, knee stuff and that Donovan has had to resort to 4 on 4 practices. The suspension stuff hurts as it is because it's taking away time from those guys developing/gelling on the court. But the injury stuff has to be concerning IMO.

The way they slow everyone on the court down is fricking miserable to watch.

O yea, I'm definitely a fan, and it will have noticeable change from day one.

Depends on what your definition of a "slam dunk" is.

I expect UK to be very, very good, but I don't think they'll run away with the SEC. UF will give them competition.

I'm not using last season as a referendum, at all. I'm just not willing to concede a season before it's even started.

Oh, yeah, we're definitely hurting now, but none of the injuries are anything serious and everyone should be back soon.

I think we'll definitely take our lumps fairly early. Wisconsin will probably run us out of the gym next Tuesday. But by the time SEC play rolls around, I think we'll be a national contender.
